its been weeks since my last visit.

kk, my gp girl's name is ming~~ in chinese writing is -冥-
our relationship has not improve, everytime i wanted to pad her, she will avoid my hand,
running around the cage, playing hide n seek with my hand~~ sigh

that is i can't bring her out for flooring time, she will struggle if i try to lift her~
but she will wheek me for food if she sees me  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif

guys,any advice on bonding?
juztiny~ i am not a very good owner~swt

Sugar has given you some tips already, so I would just add in my style a bit...once you catch her out, still hold her tight (to avoid accidentally drop her when she struggle), one hand hold her armpit area, and another hand support her bud and hind legs area. Put her face directly face to face with you at very close distance, let her look at you closely, you look into her eyes and and talk to her too, gently comb with your finger on her nose and between eyes area. Hold her like that whenever you took her out several times. After some times she won't be scared of you so much.

My Sheltie Gucci is very funny..till todate she will still scream whenever I hold her...she screams very loud as if being slaughtered by me...actually she would not struggle when I hold her, but she just like to scream non-stop. I'm sure my neighbours will think that I keep GPs and slaughter them to eat every day. brows.gif

hi everyone, its been a while...

i would like to ask if anyone can tell me how to know ur GP is going to give birth? got signs like she will stay only in 1 place in the cage, or she'll wheek or whine aloud? i cant tell when my YUi is going to deliver. i'm worried her pregnancy took too long to finish. last 2 days i tried to touch her stomach at the side and she like squeal as if i hurt her, then when i try to hold her for closer look she will try to avoid my touch, then whe i try to lift her she'll squeal when i touch her belly...gosh i'm so worried...is she in pain?

and is it normal for pregnant sow to lose their fur in some part of their body? my Yui's ankle area is almost bare, and her skin felt dry to my touch...is this normal? can pregnant sow can be treated for her skin problem or should i wait till she finish deliver then start the treatment?

Help, i'm so worried about Yui.... icon_question.gif
*
When the SOW is due for delivery, she would hardly move, she will not whine aloud or wheek.

It is not normal that pregnant sow to lose its fur in some part of the body. It is better to treat the fungal problem now than passing the fungal problem to the babies. The shampoo I passed to you, is safe to use on pregnant SOW.

4 is still ok... I can't imagine Jacklene's and Juztiny's food stock is like @@ sure spend a lot ahahha~

I spend about RM300 a month just on GPs' pellet excluding hay. And that is only on Hagen brand of pellets.

I did think of changing to a better brand, but after calculating, really cannot afford to change. The only think I could substitute is more fresh veg for them.

I also tried on a cheaper brand, loose pack type for just 1 pkt, and my GPs lost weight tremendously. So still Hagen is consider quite good and economy for me.

Goshz..I really lost count how many GPs I have actually....12? 13? 14?

Hurray..my Sheltie GP safely delivered 2 healthy babies just now at 10pm. She is a first-timer, still not get use to the experience of being a mom. Initially she doesn't want to get close to her babies, and her babies were also in confuse stage being left alone at the corner. I tried many time to introduce the baby to the mom's milk, finally the mom can accept the babies.

Coz sheltie is a very nice breed. Also quite a number of us here only have Abbys and normal shorthairs. Having a sheltie is a rare occasion laugh.gif anyways congratz Juz.. Have you decided to keep the pups or sell em off?
*
Well...if got people want then will sell..if not then keep myself...LOL!

Personally I like the darker brown one, as I do not have that color. Now in total already 16 GPs, thinking of the feeding cost will increase some more....will sure change my mind again. rclxub.gif

I have another abby gp is currently pregnant. Those abby babies for sure will sell out all..as I am not intend to keep any more abby.

Ya...you have a pair of sharp eyes.

These babies are not 100% Sheltie babies, they are offsprings of Sheltie + Abby...so can call them Shebby...LOL!

One baby looks like Abby (dark brown) and one looks like Sheltie. Will post up their pictures after 5 days, then can see better how their furs like, especially the light brown one.

I think he mentioned before that he is spending about RM300 per month.. and yes that is a bomb.. even for me rclxub.gif lucky i wont ever reach that figure.. I think he has other pets too.. dunno how much total per month he spends lol!
*
I spend close to RM1k a month on my pets...I have other pets like birds, hamsters, chipmunk and dogs. But I think keeping GPs cost the most...they are not cheap in terms of pet maintenance...

Yeah that's what I've heard as well, the pet cemetery can be very expensive...I'm also considering garden but the soil is so hard at home and when my imagination goes wild, I will think that when my gp dies, then if I don't bury him deep enough, I might suddenly have a gp skeleton sticking up or maggots climbing up the soil........ rclxub.gif the only thing to do is to keep digging...just keep digging...just keep digging... sweat.gif

Here's some Pepiku pics I'd like to share with all of you...

Last week one of my favourite chipmunk died..I buried it in my own Garden. My son some more put up a tomb stone for it. I just dig about 8" deep only...so far so good, no maggots climbing out from the soil, and no foul smell..so I think for GP you just need to dig about 1.5 ft deep can do.

Last time my German Shepherd dog died, my sister hired 2 Indian workers to dig 6ft deep to bury it, and paid the workers RM200. So if you are lazy to dig 1.5ft deep, then hire an Indonesian worker to do the job and pay him lor...

Gosh pay RM200 just to dig a hole??? a bit pricey don't you think? Btw Juz.. i might be interested if you have a 100% sheltie baby in your litter..  brows.gif
*
Coming soon...1.5 months time..

Paid RM200 to dig 6ft deep still consider reasonable than asking the vet to dispose off the body, normally the vet charges based on the dog's body weight (1kg = RM35), so if the body weight is 65kg, then will cost more.

You can be rich one day too....just start setting your goal, 3 years plan, 5 years plan and 10 years plan. And then action....!!

Well planned life, will sure drive you to the right direction in reaching your goal.

I am now quite contented, I had fulfilled most of my goals I set 5 years ago. I work from home and get paid double digits income monthly. And still have the time to play with my pets and do gardening... thumbup.gif

LOL! Not here to brag about myself...I am not working for Multi-level-marketing company. I am just a Web Content Editor/Producer for US company. Mostly work in wee hour when everyone is sleeping.

I might involve (because the management haven't confirm the funding for the trip) in the meeting and workshop at Beijing on 18th May - 23rd May soon(business trip). I know i should feel happy as this is an opportunity in my career as i'm representing Malaysia to attend the workshop but i dont feel to leave my gps (Jingle,Jasper and Choco).

Actually my hubby can take care them as he know how and what to feed them but he will be going to Thailand also on 20th May - 22 May for his business matters also. I have another candidate (my sister) to take care them within the few days but i'm really worries leh, i'm not really sure whether she can handle or not. I just hope that she can help to feed them water, pallets, hay and veges, not really on cleaning the pee and poo because i know she will make it worse. I think what can i do is pack all the needed food in 12 small begs for each variance of food(breakfast and dinner).

Do you guys have any advice on this?
*
Well..I understand your worries, as your Jasper is quite a problematic one.. why don't you boarding them at Dr. Jenny's clinic? Would this give you peace of mind?

how much you goin to sell the sheltie?
*
Last time I used to sell my purebreed Sheltie for RM80. Now food cost has been increased, so the price will be increased too...may be selling RM100-120 depending on colors.
But price is negotiable..provided I find the buyer is a sincere person that will take good care of my baby GP.
