QUOTE(whizzer @ Apr 9 2009, 09:54 PM) Is the crisis bottoming out ? If reported earnings are higher than expected, is it real or just more stimulus money doing their thing and creating smoke screen of economic health I do feel it is bottoming or in the bottoming process. But market or economy shouldn't shoot back up straight away. Some range bound and side way trend is good for the market as economy is not recovering or yet. It just mean the worst has passed, but it doesn't mean we are free of problem, just it is not as worst. Slowly healing and market adjustment is something or realistic expectation. But some company may not get through this period of time. This is the primary risk of current stock market. It is bear market rally, just mean previous fierce and fear selling is done for time being, now market correct back with overly done selling. One key supporting fact for the market why stock find hard to drop to even more i.e. Money has nowhere to go worldwide especially with massive injection and stimulus package around the globe. |

QUOTE(viper88 @ Apr 9 2009, 09:57 PM) Any1 bought shares today when price retreat abit ? i did. actually yesterday evening but today's price is about the same, Maybank at 3.88Tomorrow maybe can make another round of profits. Damn.. those high beta risk counter stocks went up alot... v_viper88 i say dun go for high risk stuff la. thats a real gamble, as movements are highly speculative rather than something fundamental affecting it. chances are u'll either miss the rise, and by the time u get in, its going down or you buy in, and realise there's no rise for the share. (i kena with huann when i first started. at first made a fair amount of cash speculating it, then when it plumetted i lost all profit i made with it and more lol. and until now huann is dead in the water) |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Apr 9 2009, 08:20 PM) Banks has no obligation to report any million of deposit that putting in. Also they can't prejudice on it, someone bring a few million in to deposit, bank can't straight away know and suspect it is "black/dirty money", right? If we are talking about small community in a small village, possible as you know who is rich or doing busineses or really rich one by doing legitimate in a small community. But now we are in million of people in KL city area. How do you know he/she is not rich or those money is not obtained through legitimate way. We don't know and having a clue on any stranger come to the bank to deposit or doing financial transaction. Banks are just doing business, they are not authority, banks will cooperate to reveal if there is an evidence and requested by the authority. If not, they can't do much about it. It is the job of authority to tackle it through proper set of law, rules and regulation, and action. Also bare in mind, it is a breach of privacy if banks blatantly exposed customer deposit or banking activities. No doubt and agree money laundering is a serious issue which need to be tackled. But it is not easy task to tackle, financial tools become more and more complex days by days. Even ponzi scheme is rampant with internet age which ponzi scheme is run on full daylight and openly, but still it is hard to tackle. Not to mention the money laundering issue which often being done more profession way than ponzi scheme. Cheers. i think i have to open a thread on this topic. |

It is the changing of accounting rule ( mark to market ) that " allows" banks to reports good profits. That would create wealth throughout whole world markets.
The change of accounting rule/law that could save many jobs in the future, though many accountants do not agree. But if it is the benefits of the whole world , why not ? This post has been edited by SKY 1809: Apr 9 2009, 10:31 PM |

Accounting is just a " fair value" judgment, never be perfect.
It is always assumed that a co is able to operate On A Going Concern Basis, then only the rest of the rules are applicable. If a co is "dying" likes a person, that diff sets of rules applied. Correct me if I am wrong. This post has been edited by SKY 1809: Apr 9 2009, 11:07 PM |

Yup..true more on speculative for some of the stocks... some still quite ok.
If really want to play high risk beta stock, need to cut lost if drop to ur target... same goes to good stock counters. Dun let ur guard down too much..coz mistake will cost money lost. Huaan.. if u see its PE very high.. 432! Compare to Zelan PE now only 2 and have shares in IJM value about 0.80 +/-.. IJM shares rise coz more construction project expected.. so zelan for me Zelan is a good play around 0.72 - 0.735.. Too bad i didn't managed to get it coz i bz buying Lionind. Since monday.. i expect market will retreat.. T+3, profit taking etcs.. but still market chiong up back. I re-enter back Lionind this evening.. buying vol quite strong... seems like still have ppl pushing Lionind price up 0.74.. like past few days pushing it up till 0.75. Maybe they have some insider news and start to grab now...or maybe coz of OSK research report on LIONIND. v_viper88 QUOTE(Baronic @ Apr 9 2009, 10:14 PM) i did. actually yesterday evening but today's price is about the same, Maybank at 3.88 This post has been edited by viper88: Apr 9 2009, 11:34 PMi say dun go for high risk stuff la. thats a real gamble, as movements are highly speculative rather than something fundamental affecting it. chances are u'll either miss the rise, and by the time u get in, its going down or you buy in, and realise there's no rise for the share. at least we hv new tools for prediction, not need to depend on computer chart. 5000 years of feng shui history is more efficient compare to only about hundred years of candle chart.
i thinking of attend class to learn feng shui. This post has been edited by sampool: Apr 10 2009, 08:37 AM |
