QUOTE(zamans98 @ Apr 14 2009, 11:49 PM)
- Short term weakness could be expected given the recent 20%
uptick from the low as well as the larger than expected share issue;

- No official guidance on the time line from the current announcement but
based on recent telecon, management is looking for end 2Q09 for
closure.

- Renounceable rights on a 5:4 basis with an issuance of 4.7 billion new
shares. Post rights, total share outstanding to balloon to nearly 8.5 billion
shares versus 3.8 billion earlier;

Big volume, hard to move. Like Maybank post Right issues - drop a lot, no? 408 --> 3.86?
*
Oh , i see ... yea... but the climb back for the Maybank is fast to break the nerves.

Due to the news that a report says Axiata is going to start issuing the dividend which will only happen in 2011.. sharks, i guess its going to be a real snail climbing up.

or Perhaps it could be a plan to sustain the expansion throughout their asia business investment. but according to their earning its "absolutely well on track" as they claim. With the remaining 2.2 billion repayment to the TM ..

Gosh .. its pretty confusing for their disbursement of fund raising plan..

QUOTE
KUALA LUMPUR, April 13 (Reuters) - Malaysia's mobile phone operator Axiata Group (AXIA.KL: Quote, Profile, Research) will be in a position to start paying dividends in 2011, a local newspaper reported on Monday quoting the company's chief executive officer.

"I'm not declaring this but in 2011, as a total group, we will be cash positive. So we will be in a position to do that," said Axiata's Jamaludin Ibrahim.

Axiata was formerly known as TM International. (Reporting by Varsha Tickoo; Editing by David Chance)

Wait and see. It will drop by at least 10-20% at the beginning (based on Maybank-OR).

i think we can't jump to the conclusion that all rights issues will respond this way.

hi, just want to ask something:

I'm planning to invest Futures in Hong Kong, my brother will be staying there for his study. I wonder if it is possible to let my brother withdraw the money from the bank account which I'm using in Hong Kong, is it possible for him to withdraw the money at his convenience?

Also, if he withdraws the money from this bank account and spend the money in Hong Kong, will there be any commissions charged?

The reference price tomorrow for Axiata will be 1.77,viz today's closing price.

The reference price tomorrow for Axiata OR will be 1.77 less 1.12,viz 65 sen.

But I believe both will be trading at a lower price due to selling pressure on the first day listing of the OR.

giving the overall market sentiment is still weak, plus with help of DJIA, we can see RED. I'm picking up at low price, and averaging all the way if reverse trend happens.

so, based on your best guess/estimate, what will be the price for tom?

AXIATA-OR will be around 58-62
AXIATA will be around 145-160?

when did you buy? before ex-date or after?

if after, yes you have paper loss of 0.37
if before, then tomorrow you have the option to buy 4 shares for every 5 you have, so if you have 1000 units, they will offer you 800 units at price RM 1.21 each (fixed during rights issue announcement)
so in the end you hold more shares in hand but invested more also, no loss or gain

if u buy axiata-or tomorrow, it won't convert, you have to pay for the mothershare when the OR expires.
correct me if i am wrong anyone, if he buys 500 units of axiata-or (500X0.56[assumption axiata-or price tomorrow], when it expires, he has to fork out 500X(eg. 1.61 price of axiata mothershare after expiry date)?

i am also new to the rights issue and i also hold axiata shares, but this is what i gathered so far.
and there should be a letter flying to you soon apparently, to advise on how to bank in money to buy the issued rights

If your buying price of Axiata is 1.83,then that's the ex-rights issue price. If Axiata trades at say 1.53 tomorrow, then your paper loss is 30 sen per share.

You won't get any OR since you bought ex-RI.

i accidentally bought today.. tongue.gif sad.gif

if axiata-or is 0.56 tmr.. then i bought at 0.56.. but when it expires.. the mothershare price is 2.00 and the OR is 0.65(let say) means i hv to fork out 1.35 to convert it to mothershare?
