Weekends was so fuking horrible i cant even surf nicely on weekdays its ok

Ok guys i am on 2MBPS and but DL speed shows i am on 3MB. thing is i cant browse any US sites and this has been happening since 2-3 weeks or even a month. i am from mont kiara area and forever stuck in the 115 ip. what should i do? realyl desperate

I was in Australia and I feel the way the ISP do things here are so much better and can be implemented in our home. This is their policy:

1. Everyone can enjoy the maximum speed available in the network
In Optus's case its ADSL2+ and 20Mbps can be enjoyed as long as you have compatible modem. If you have ADSL model, you can only enjoy up to 8Mbps. 50% of the users can enjoy between 8-20Mbps 75% of the time depending on network congestion. Thats so damn better than Streamyx even if we can only enjoy 2Mbps of it.

2. Charges
They don't charge by speed and data packages. Everyone can enjoy the maximum. You only pay for the amount of data used. Their plans are 7GB onwards until 30GB. Price is also reasonable too (lets not do rates conversion because its not fair this way, assume 1:1 conversion).

i've been having extreme disconnection since saturday. this never happen b4. wonder if the modem is faulty.

Starting from yesterday afternoon, latency playing WOW has become unplayable.
All 60.50, 60.53, 60.54, 124 has been tested and all latency is terrible.
Tried VPN, still the same. Anyone encountered the same situation?

Sir/Madam,

I am lodging a report against Telekom Streamyx 1MB service.
I am a user from Penang, and along with users from the rest of the states
in Malaysia, we found that Telekom is unable to provide reliable broadband
service in terms of latency and bandwith.

While the rest of the Asia countries are able to have 300 ms - 400 ms latency
to United States, Malaysia is lagging at 1000+ ms latency. Due to the
laziness and incompetency of TM in solving this problem, users have been
trying to connect to United States through VPN provided by Singapore.

Even this cannot be reliably done as somehow TM has managed to cause
a problem in this area and connection to Singapore, our closest distance
country is slow.

I found out that since yesterday (May 10)about 3:00 p.m., latency has
become horrible with most IP - 60.50, 60.53, 60.54 etc. There is also frequent
disconnect from IP. Users from all over Malaysia is experiencing this problem.
I am reporting this from Penang. Please check out what is wrong.

browsing US websites been slow since last weekend... but torrent still stable with 124.82 IP with around 130kb/s

hi guys... i ad just canceled my p1 and subscribed to Streamyx against my better judgment. On the first day itself... i cant login to any website. The speed was not only slow... it was practically not moving at all. My ip is always 60. i dont know what else can i do... I called the helpdesk but they told em to wait 2 days while they resolve this issue..

did u not see this thread and the many others about streamyx at first? anyways welcome to the family ; )

i tot 60 is always better den 115 and 118..
i use to get 115 and 118 those ip love giving me timeout to certain site but 60 ip is better compare to those 2..

If you want to know why you got local high pings, try ping your own ISP website for example tmnet.net.my and see the result, if high ping for everage means that you have problem with your locations, line or it could be somewhere else, your modem or your line or both...

Hmm obviously i'm not the only one. Anyway I'm in Sarawak. Tried calling but only reply i got is "your call is important to us, sorry, all our customer service personnel is currently engaged" bla bla bla..

Yes, just if you think a far a bit, why we slow on local sites, of cource tmnet.net.my is local sites, and our ISP too, if you using screamyx, ping your own ISP is the best way to know if you have problem to connect ISP itself... then sceamyx is the reason why we slow, even I ping DNS a lot packet dropped there...
