Yeahh, no different cause TMNUT will not subcribe it. Their future marketing plan is throttle the customer, oversell a bandwidth and earn more money.  vmad.gif
*
Not sure what you mean by TM will not subscribe it. TM is part of the consortium involved in the project with about a 10% stake in the cost.

There was an article about the state of broadband access here in NST Tech&U yesterday. There should have been more complaints about TM.

Record your screenshots and loading of webpages.

Then call for a press conference to demand explanation from their CEO and upper management people.

Days like "Sehari Bersama Pelanggan" are the best time to hentam their management for proper explanation.

This actually may not be a bad idea if it can be organized properly.

Sometime back in 1996, something similar was done when there was an issue about Jaring dialup phone call cost.

Sometime before that, local phone calls used to cost 13sen per call (not timed). Then Telekom changed the rates to 3 sen per min.

A group of Jaring users collected money to put an ad in the papers about what was going on. I think about RM10K or so was collected for the purpose. But before the ad went to print, TMNet agreed to meet with the users.

After the meeting, eventualy Telekom provided the Jaring 1511 dialup number at 1.5sen per min. Later came the TMNet 1515 and other 4 digit numbers for dialup. The collected money was then given to a charity.

Since they have set the date 17 Apr, if you call 100 to complain, they will probably just point to the current circuit fault problem.

I think it is important to remember that the slow connections have been there before the latest circuit fault problem. The circuit fault made it worse. When that is fixed, I don't think everything is going to be ok. It went from bad to worse and will probably just go back to bad after the 17th.

I've mentioned this before. TM appears to be upgrading their infrastructure. I believe this includes upgrading their local backbone to fiber, upgrading their DSLAMs to IP-DSLAMs etc. I don't think this is just so that existing Streamyx customers get a better service, its probably also got to do with their HSBB rollout. I guess the AAG when finally commissioned will help in the international bandwidth.

But all this infrastructure upgrade will take time. Maybe months or years? So I really don't think everyone's problem is going to be solved after the 17th. I doubt it - I hope I am wrong though.

It really does seem that they have taken on more customers than their network can handle. They have so many reseller pushing Streamyx. All they are interested in is to signup new customers and earn the commission.

TM knows users are having problems. They know that there users are considering wireless broadband from other companies. Maybe this is why recently they even have a special promotion for only existing Streamyx customers so that they will stay on with Streamyx.

Apart from making reports and requesting for rebates, maybe those who are on higher packages and not getting what they are paying for should consider downgrading to the lower packages. Save some money, let them lose some money. Upgrade back when everything is ok. Or find a better alternative for now and come back later if things improve. What else can be done?

Upgrades are done in stages. If you want to expand the North-South highway, surely it cannot be done all at once in a few days. It will be done in stages. Similarly for large network infrastructures.

If you read previous posts or the TM announcement, the date 17 Apr has already been mentioned a few days ago.

At PC Fair, P1 was giving a 7 days trial period for their service. Call them and find out whether that is still on. Maybe you can try the service for a week and see how it is in your area.

That site is hosted in US? Maybe when they find it so slow to access their own site using Streamyx, something may be done about it.

Could you be more specific? I thought most packages were at 1Mbps? Or are you on Jaring Flite (1 - 10Mbps) package? Or a leased line?

Has any one noticed this clause of Streamyx service before? I don't think that I saw it when I signed up the package a few years ago, and I am currently facing the same speed problem as many others mentioned here since Dec 2008, i.e. no longer being able to obtain the 60.x.x.x range ips.

oversea.

I am not sure why people seem to be surprised that things are still not back to normal speeds. Yes, there was a circuit fault from around 1 Apr - 17 Apr which made things worse. But don't you realise that things were bad before that? So it went from bad to worse and now is back to bad. Did you really think that after 17 Apr everything was going to be good?

Only the circuit fault problem was fixed. The good/bad IP and routing problem which has existed for the past few months has not been fixed. So you are back to having bad connections.

I have suggested this 2-3 times here before. But no one posted back whether they even tried this or what was the result. I will suggest again. Call the TM HQ. See below for details.

There is little use complaining here. TM is not following this thread. TM is not going to do anything due to the complaints here. You can email the media, you can email MCMC etc. Do you really think each time they get a complaint email they are going to find out from TM what is going on? Even if there is a chance they do, TM will just give them some excuse which will sound ok to them, and you cannot verify or dispute the excuse. How many of you who emailed such complaints have got useful replies? Has the problem been solved?

When you have a problem with a company, you should work on complaining to the company first, especially the management. . As we know, complaining to 100 is not producing any results. Because they cannot do anything about it. You need to get to higher ups in TM. So call the TM HQ general line. Ask for the "Streamyx Complaints Department".

Find out who you are speaking with. Get an direct phone no or extension if you can. Politely tell them your problem. Write down all details before you call them so you have all the facts and figures. Tell them which area you are located at. Tell them about your problems with IPs and routings. Tell them the lack of any announcements or responses from TM. Tell them how long this has been going on. Tell them how many times you have called 100 with no results. Tell them the ridiculous things 100 tells you. Tell them this is nothing to do with your modem or line, its on TM side which many users are facing. Tell them Streamyx users are looking at other broadband alternatives due to these problems.

Ask them whether they are aware of what users are facing. Ask them whether they got any such complaints before. Ask them whether the media has contacted them as users have emailed the media about this. Ask them whether MCMC has called them about this as users have emailed MCMC about this. Ask them who else you can speak to, a manager / management etc.

Post back here what responses you get.

They should internally get in touch with technical people (not 100) and you may get a call from them. At least try it and see. If many people call, something may be done. What do you have to lose? It may cost a bit to make the call, but you are losing more paying for Streamyx monthly and not getting a good service. It may take up some of your time getting through and explaining, but see how much time we are all wasting posting complaints and test results here for so many weeks? Surely, we all have better things to do with our time.

Please post back here for result comparison. Let's see if after say 10 people call, they tell the 11th person that nobody has made such a complaint. Let's see how honest they are and whether they do something. Let's see if they admit there is a problem. Let's see if they say they are upgrading the infrastructure and how long it will take. If nothing else, we may get different bits of info from each person calling. Someone may get to speak to a technical person who can give more useful info than from 100.

So, give it a try, make the call (during office hours) to TM HQ. Here's the phone number (available to public) from 103 operator:
TM HQ, Jalan Pantai, KL)
03-2240 9494
Ask for Streamyx Complaints Department.

Good luck. Please post back here after your call.

hih , thank you for the info. Make sure you are talking with the Streamyx Complaints Department at HQ. I am wondering if when the operator passed you to the other person, was it to the right dept or whether they have some way to pass you back to 100 - not sure about this. Because saying about port, speedtest etc seems like the regular 100 support.

Next time get name of person you are speaking with. Be polite, but be persistant. Thank you for trying, please let us know after your next try.

Note, this is calling TM HQ, so call office hours only.

They won't rebate as the case is open. If you reported a problem on 18 Apr, and the case has not been solved, how much are they supposed to rebate you today? How to calculate? Now, let's say the case is solved on 28 Apr and then they review the case and decide to rebate. They can rebate for 10 days calculation. This is just an example.

LoL every one will get the same responce. The internet was fine 3 weeks ago.

So something happend and im sure its Streamyx fault.

This is why I suggested calling and trying to talk to some relevant person. See post #1117.

When they reply your emails, they will just have some excuses and copy and paste the same to others. You cannot get real answers to your questions. You cannot discuss or dispute with them. After receiving their reply, are you going to reply back again? How many times do you think they will reply to you?

This is why you must get to talk to someone in management who can tell you what is going on and you can ask questions and get answers during the phone conversation. But so far, only 1 person has tried and posted back here after calling TM HQ. I am not sure why others are not trying it.

ok people. i got a little hope for you all.

i was stucked in 115.134 ip for few months and it really SUX. according to shitmyx my DSLAM only got 115 and 218 IP but i NEVER got 218 before. yday i called few calls & email to 100, NOC team, MCMC...shoot them really kao kao...keep pushing them to work....complaint to NOC directly...

and guess what, today i received FEW calls from them to ensure that my problem is solved. then i came back home and check.

TADAAAAAA!!!!!!! now i can get 218 ip and it ROXXX!!!!! ping time is much better than 115.....youtube HD videos can load smoothly (4mb user).

refer to my previous post on the progress of whole case. after 4 months + of effort and numerous phone calls+email..FINALLY I GOT RID OF 115 SUCKY IP!!!!!!!! HELLLL YEAH!!!!!!!
*
Good for you roy_pck. Do you know why you finally got a better connection? Because you persisted and got through to the right people who can actually solve the problem for you. Not like the support at 100. I hope people here can now see why I've been trying to say we must all get through to the right people or management. See my post #1117 and post #1240 from Suk .

No point complaining here. We all know connections are slow, but we keep posting the same thing. If you really want, spend your time trying to contact the right people and see if your problem can be solved like roy_pck. The more people who complain to the right people, the better the chances our connections may improve.

Nothing weird. Your account has been allocated to be on a small IP range subnet, and not to a larger dynamic IP range.

Can you post some speed test result to US or UK etc server, not just to KL server?

It has been mentioned before. Large sites like youtube etc have servers all around the world. You can be connected to different servers at different times. Your example may have been a server in this region, eg in India? So the better ping times.
