If the stickiness is from underneath, wiping the surface won't help. You have to take apart to clean it inside out. But pulling out keyboard keys without damaging it, is not easy.

@kapalterbang_737, you could run AHT came with your iMac DVD1. Or use more advance disk tool to scan the disk. If you can't do that. Just send your Mac to service.

You should check what app is taking up the memory in Activity Monitor.
Not just the total.
Also pay attention to the Page in / Page out.

Some site with certain plugin and script that will suck memory usage.
My jdownloader report 170+MB usage.

There are no "standard" here as each website you run might have different result. Like I said, you should check Activity Monitor to find out how much which app is taking.

That's pretty normal for many iMac with glass top. It's heat+dust. Some time it can be removed by taking out the glass and wipe it. Some time the stain is trapped inside the LCD panel. Which can't be remove.

Try recreate the partition. Not just erase it.

BTW, there's no need to 36-pass erase, you are stressing your HDD and Mac for no good reason.

There will be fan noise issue if you use 3rd party HDD. Or you can get an app to fix the fan noise: http://www.hddfancontrol.com/

Call AppleCare, it's a defect. Well it's just cosmetic if you can live with it.

10.7 can ignore the expiry. But 10.6 doesn't and require to perform all update via Software Update or redownload the updater with fresh cert.
