The card burnt and need a replacement. This is expected if you use wifi often and have heavy traffic all the time.

Have you try cover the FaceTime camera and see the light become brighter? The Mac will auto adjust to ambient lighting.

QUOTE(limkj @ Sep 19 2011, 08:35 PM)
Restart the mac and immediately press and hold down the Mouse button. This will force the cd to eject. If you do not have a mouse, press and hold down the trackpad button instead immediately upon restart. It will force eject your media.

Hope this will help

That's doesn't help, he/she inserted a non standard size disc into the slot loading drive. Only way to get it out is by removing the drive. Further trying to use the drive or force eject the disc will cause damage to the internal mechanism.

Forcing it out that way will cause physical damage on the disc and on the drive. Don't simply say "nothing to loose". I've seen worse case on a stuck disc and owner attempt to eject them. If it's a standard disc, then yes, you can try the normal force eject. Never the non standard disc. It's like putting bank note into coin slot and hoping the machine will return it to you.

VR Tech - Longest running SC in KL. Trusted by many. But lately overdue with many jobs, expect some delay on feedback/ return, otherwise it's my first choice.

QCD - new player in town. faster respond than VR. But sometime have followup after repairs.

Actually we only have 3 SC in KL. Not much choice to compare.

With AppleCare Plan still active = Definitely.
Out of warranty = Very unlikely but you can try.

It also depends how bad is the deformation.

There's nothing you can do much except trying different power cable and power plug. As there are no LED outside the unit, there's no telling even if the iMac getting power.

No Power = PSU need to be tested.

This is hard drive failure. Any experienced computer user will tell you how unreliable they can be sometime. Even Apple uses standard hard drive technology. And the drive supplied by one of the major drive manufacturer. I think most of us here face hard drive failure one way or another. No one brand of computer can guarantee safety of your data.
