Well he or she did mention studying GAAP previously instead of IFRS. Thus although exemption for F7 was given, there would be differences.
In P2 class, areas relating to F7 are briefly revised/covered, it may be sufficient for students who studied F7 before. However for students who obtained exemption for F7 via degree, the coverage is insufficient because the degree lectures do not delve that deep into the accounting standards - not so specific. It might or might not be true for some people, but it happened to me and some friends from different universities. Frequently, the lecturer might assume you already know.

Forgot to tell you that, my 2.5 is MASB and P2 is IFRS, but still can follow and pass. At the same time, I got some degree friend also obtained exemption for F7 via degree, but at the end they also can pass w/o study F7.

Well, keeping my fingers crossed that I'll pass the paper. Frankly speaking though, I feel that there is more to learn.

if you ask me i did F4 well and failed my F8 the first attempt . May be because i was not focused at that time .

Generally logic should be the higher the F the more difficult they should be (my views)

good luck to you any way . you have got no choice but to go through both

I did CBE too . But my roommate told me that written is the best cos you could view all questions on paper (not like CBE only that Q is visible till you click back forth.

Written will be all in objectives . CBE would have some fill in blank answers

Passing mark will be same for both (50 i guess)

Where does your interest lies in? Although many recommends to take P5 because it's easy to pass but I'm a firm believer in studying what you are interested in. No matter how hard it is you'll overcome it because of your interest whereas if you study something you don't like then it's very demotivating.

For T1 and T2 , it is quite basic accounting stuff, so if you have taken accounting before, shouldn't really be a problem. Unless you are aiming for 98-100 marks , just listen in class, do all the exercises and a pass is guaranteed . As for T5, it is mainly a theory paper , so you will need to memorise more. However, it is possible to spot topics as some are hot topics while others won't be repeated

i honestly do not think that a student actually needs a laptop, unless u do not live in ur own house, in which case pc are not accessible for u, n u might want a laptop for internet surfing n other entertainment
for this course, most of the study material are given by ur lecturer/college n this course doesn't hav a assignment to attend to, so, i dont think u need a laptop at all
unless u r rich n can afford it, y not....but for a poor student like me, laptop is a luxury i dont need at all, since i live at home n has a pc to use everyday

Speaking of laptop, although not compulsory in college or uni but when you start working especially under professional firm, you already need to be familiar and comfortable with using laptop. Dont expect employers or clients to sit down there and looking at you typing letters one by one. Commercial companies will require dekstop instead.

No problem, it's not a matter of whether its debit card or credit card, but the fact that it is issued by Visa/MasterCard - through your banks

Hell no, unless you stay in hostel, it's such a liability to be carrying laptops around
