If budget is an issue, B&W is certainly not for you. Their Reference 800 series speakers is widely acknowledged as the best in the world. The design and technology that goes into those speakers have been applied and used in the creation of the Zeppelin.

Music through HT setup is flat at best. Which is why audiophiles have specific and separate setup for their home theatre system meant to be used with movies, and their audio playing equipments. Using one for the other will deflate your listening experience.

But hey, money talks these days, both in term of whether you have it, or not. I totally understand where you are coming from when you say it is expensive. But my test yesterday reveals an audio experience, unmatched by any other iPod speakers setup, even the Sounddock II from Bose. If you are serious about listening lossless sound from your iPod, this is it.

Apple Lossless. Diana Krall's "Quiet Nights" album never sounded so good!

Excellent on the regularly encoded MP3s as well.

So how is it? Do you have to enable flight mode and will it charge your iphone.

no need to enable flight mode.. yes, it charges the iphone while in dock...sound quality, i m pretty happy with it.... actually i tested another 400ID, its more expensive by around RM400-500, but i dun think the slight performance gain is worth the difference...

BTW I went to Machines Gardens Mid Valley and tested out Altec Lansing T612.

I have even tested calling in and there was no buzzing or static noise but a simple cut off to ringtone to answer the call. FYI it also has the remote and I can confirm that the battery icon was charging.

I am totally impressed but sadly there was no stock available. The price qouted was RM800++ (can't remember exactly).

UPDATE: I have found a cheaper place to get this speaker. Price is RM699 and you can self collect the hardware if you don't trust pos malaysia or gdex to handle this delicate merchandise http://www.qwerty.com.my/index.php?main_pa...roducts_id=2485
