QUOTE(siaolang @ Apr 10 2009, 12:09 AM) I went for the equities analyst position, and from previous posts from sb who went for IT position, i guess the interview process quite similiar across different positions. hey i have been called for an intvw this friday...for economics analyst...can u pls tell me in lil detail what were the topics of the essays and hw was the test..was it high level..or easy..it would be great if u cud help me with this info..my case is 3 essays (explain and tell sth about yourself) + 4 sets : IQ+numerical+ verbal + ??? tests (similar to other assessments in banking jobs, maybe they want to show that they are selective, so they give 4 sets instead of the usual 2 sets) + 1 group interview. I went there 9am and went back 3pm. (break in between). If you are selected for the final round, would be a meetup with tan teng boo. |

QUOTE(qhw @ Apr 9 2009, 08:31 PM) 'Half-day' is not so accurate....LoLTan Teng Boo (TTB) likes to have long long meeting after office hours.... So, Saturday is still a full-day... How about weekdays?? Well, not less than 12 hours....because TTB loves to have long meetings after office hour on weekdays as well.. Why so many meetings? Most of the time you just have to listen to craps...and make you fall asleep... So called analyst needs to do more than printing, you have to be a good telemarketer as well... Don't be surprised if TTB give you 100 phone numbers to call to help him promote his new launched fund... RoFL The most important thing is... The pay is very lousy.... TTB likes to defer your confirmation...that is to defer your increment... That's the turnover rate is super super high... The conclusion is... unless you are desperate to get a job...else don't even think to apply for jobs in this company as the interview process is tedious and the pay is so lousy, doing admin+telemarketing job... Their english sounds like mandarin.... RoFL This post has been edited by xxxrebelxxx: Jun 17 2009, 10:42 PM |

my gf used to work at TTB.
there is super minimal transparency, in fact u will b lucky just to see something because everything is controlled. TTB is rich, no doubt but he also don't want people to know what he knows the increment is shit and worse, when people want to resign because they TTB don't wanna confirm them, TTB go prepare a back dated CONFIRMATION letter so that he don't need to approve their claims then they fall victim to this kinda nonsense (that time those staff also bodoh. don't know how to use labour law) |

PLEASE DO NOT JOIN THIS COMPANY. why?
1. pay is not competitive at all > pay you peanuts but expect you to work like dog. 2. working hours are long and strenuous (over public holidays and weekends) and no OT pay > no off-day in lieu even if you work on public holidays and weekends. 3. biased treatment by management > leng luis are treated better and shouted at less > autocratic style of management. not encouraged to voice out. like the japanese saying, 'the nail that sticks out gets hammered down'. 4. lack of appreciation > china-man style of management will not appreciate your work but will shout at you (no give face wan) if you make any mistakes. 5. mobile phones are not allowed during office hours > you deposit your phone into a box when you clock-in and can only retrieve it when you clock-out. not even during lunch time you can use your mobile. reason? they say you handle sensitive info, thats why cannot use mobile lor. 6. use your chinese name > for chinese, not allowed to use your christian name. e.g john wong ah kau. you cannot be known as 'john' here in capital dynamics. must be 'ah kau' ok? good dog. 7. language > allowed to speak only in english. cannot speak in mandarin, tamil, melayu or cantonese etc. reason? this is a 'global' company hence only can use english. like lord of the rings, 'one language to rule them all'. 8. attire > for ladies, not allowed to wear pants or flat shoes. only skirt and high-heel shoes. reason? you guess and see.. 9. job scope > due to high staff turnover rate, there is always shortage of manpower. so you will thrown work that is totally unrelated to your job scope from time to time. be prepared! 10. medical > sometimes can claim, sometimes cannot. 11. probation > 6 month probation. if they are not satisfied with your performance, will defer your confirmation. 12. notice period > during probation, termination notice is 1 month. upon confirmation, termination notice is *gasp* 2 months! the purpose of this post is just to share with all who are considering to join this company. if you are ok with all these, by all means pls go ahead. otherwise, don't. cuz i heard even the coo (chief operating officer) who has been with them 10 years has already left.. |

The last post complaining about icap is just only about 1 month ago.
Anyway, no point reading other ppl's comment. Seeing is believing. As one of my friend said before," i just join to see if the thing written in lowyat is true or not". Spoken like a true warrior. If you can take it, then take it. If not, then don't take it. |

Hello,
I got offered a job at Capital Dynamics. The pay is 9000 riggits a month. However, they want to bond me for 3 years, with 6 months salary being required for me to break the bond. I performed a Google search to find out the work conditions of Capital Dynamics. Is there anyone here who has worked there recently (within the last two years, but preferably, the last year), or is still working there, who can tell me if this is worth it? I am from the Caribbean, and I don't want to bind myself to a company and find out that it was big mistake. Thank you. QUOTE(qhw @ Mar 31 2009, 10:43 AM) |

Guys, I think all of your purpose (i.e. high salary, good working benefits, good hours etc) of joining TTB and Cap Dynamics is WRONG. If you want those benefits, you might as well join a proper bank (RHB, Ambank, Maybank, etc). The main motivation for joining TTB and taking sh1t from him is to learn as much as possible (don't expect him to teach you 100% this is not school and he will definately not spoon feed you) and develope your own methods of making money like him. Once you have the relevant experience you start your own firm like him. That "should" be the main motivation if you wanna join TTB.

QUOTE(tracylai @ Nov 29 2011, 08:55 PM) Do you work for Capital Dynamics/have you worked there. Taking shit from someone for one year is one thing, but three years, when you are bonded in a way that you can never leave until the contract expires, is another. |

Seriously, you might have slapped yourself in the face by posting your concern and your identity (indirectly) in this forum.

QUOTE(qhw @ Mar 31 2009, 10:43 PM) hi, '' I just received a call from HR for the final individual interview. i have googled about capital dynamics online and curious about the company. is the company good, famous ?? how is the working environment there? good paying ? anyone knows about this company? thankss.... Actually now I am also waiting for the reply from Standard Chartered consumer banking, but frankly to say, I prefer capital dynamic because I really love to be a financial analysis rather than a banker.
