So, how much is the 50" version TH-P50X10K selling for? We know that the 42" model goes for under 3k.

How is TH-P42X10K performs in HDTV using HDMI connection?

If compare to 42LZ80, which 1 better?

Until now, there is no price indication for 50X10. Maybe have to wait longer

I have the same question before but remained unanswered. Therefore I went to experience myself, I prefer X10 more on same source and default color setting. That's when I decided to go for X10 even though it is not FULL HD. I prefer better contrast ratio than resolution.

I think the difference between 1080p and 720p remains small at 42" Unless u watched it at a very close distance?

Maybe a different story if it is 50"?

Thanks for your reply..here is a link for plasma vs lcd for HDTV, worth a readPlasma vs LCD

Based on the review, plasma seems to be better in terms of home theater and gaming usage for HDTV

Can you elaborate more details on the source u used to compare on the lcd and plasma?

I brought my WDTV player there and test, the Panasonic sales person is kind enough to hook up for me. Tested a few *.mkv such as The Dark Knight and Iron Man, a few SD *.avi as well. Stood around 6 feet away and my eyes felt for the X10 immediately.

I believe 720p and 1080p mkv files works well on both platforms and the differences are very minor and almost not noticeable.

Just wonder if non-HD source like rmvb files for drama in example, will plasma does better work than the lcd?

If astro works better on plasma compared to lcd then non-HD source rmvb files should work better on plasma.

Finally got the X10K (RM2,900, free HDMI thrown in). Kid watching Madagascar (africa) now, after hooking up to home theatre. Using WDTV as source.
Will watch "Australia" tonite!

Still haven't hook it up at home. Feel ashamed that house no astro yet... astroman coming tomorrow though, so can give proper review tomorrow. what's more, i'll be having my ps3 hooked up to it as well (i hope).

I went to best denki today, and i compared the the 42LCD panny and 42plasma. Colour contrast definitely plasma win hands down. But i have to say that plasma reflection is SUPER annoying. grr.. might get an anti glare curtain placed at home.

I'm a noob when it comes to home entertainment system (and also new to LYN, but info in this forum helped me alot with my purchase wink.gif), so if you have anything in particular you want me to note during my review, feel free to post it here. biggrin.gif
