just now i tried the pl-50 from the seller , what the hell , damn sharp man the sound ... is it me getting used to audio technica warm signature or is it meant to be VERY sharp?

i wanna stress on this point , VERY SHARP. VERY VERY sharp.

i used my friends blackberry to test it by the way

How does the PL-20 compared to the Hpm-70? Is it obviously better in all aspects?

The only IEM earphone I've ever had is the Hpm-70 and it is really good, I don't know how it can get better than that.

Recently, I broke my Hpm-70 and I'm really interested to try other IEM, perhaps the PL-20 can bring the music to another level

And by 'bass' do you guys mean the 'boom' sound in techno song? I don't listen to those kinda song but the bass in rock/jazz/pop/whatever song is really important to me as well

If you think the HPM70 is good, the PL21 will blow you away bro (though I don't think the -20s have enough bass for you)... The PL50 even more so.

Nowadays I go back to the HPM77 I have from time to time just to remind myself of how far things have changed - they just sound muddy, unclear and recessed across the board to me now.

make sure you use the right eartips, for over the ear design selection of eartip is very crucial.

when using my pl-30, only ONE eartip provide me best isolation, punchy bass, forward mids, sweet treble.

all other eartips give me "-3 bass" "+1 mid" "-3 treble" kind of sound

owh ya ya, make sure to use correct/suitable eartips or if situation calls get a suitable eartips for it. got same problem too at first for my PL20, after changing/getting correct eartips only then realized it was my bad judgement from the start, and not the earpiece fault. hope it all works well for you.

Same!

PL-30 though,

1st 20 hours crap,
50 hours okay,
Then around 60-70 hours it went back to crap again,
Then keep improving until 100hrs, stable nice punchy solid sound...

hello all audio junkies!!! I am just a regular music lover and I carelessly ruined my Lear01. Now after browsing around the garage sales section for IEMs around rm100 budget I found soundmagic. Is PL11 the one or PL20 the one? Or should I go for PL30, which i dont see anyone selling at the moment. Need some advice. Thanks!!!

I just received my SoundMAGIC today. I have some super super newbie questions... the IEMs came with some tips attached, and also 3 other pairs of similar tips (different sizes - total 4 pairs). These tips are soft and thin, like paper. I think these are called flange tips? Also included are 3 pairs of thick, spongy tips. I think these are called foam tips? When I tried the default tips, the sound is tinny, cannot hear the vocals, no bass - which I think are all related to the IEMs not fitting properly. So am I supposed to remove the flange tips and put on the foam tips? And I heard the foam tips will wear out very quickly and need to buy new ones?

try playing with the tips.... the foam tips if u take care of it, it will last longer...
and i do think that ure having problem of getting a right fit.... and try wearing it over the ears will help reduce the microphonics too....

anyways... enjoy ur soundmagic...
p/s: btw.. what's ur earphone model?
