QUOTE(terradrive @ Dec 8 2009, 05:51 PM) How's the sound of PL-50 compared to fischer eterna? eterna is really unforgiving of bad recording... hell it also source choosy.... luckily my iphone can delivers.... When I use the eterna to listen to some lower quality music files like those downloaded from Digi Music service, I'm annoyed by how poor it sound. Is Eterna unforgiving on poor sources? I read that PL-50 is more forgiving on poor sources, what's your opinion on this? One more thing is PL-50 practical to use outdoors, like be able to put on fast and it won't break seal that easily? Sorry for so many questions ok back to soundmagic.... i have pl21 and i think i can still hear good music even thou low quality mp3 files... my advice thou... go rip to wav files... |

I had musics that are lossless that I obtained from cds, some have lower quality recording/mastering that Eterna's bullying it into my ear
If the PL-50 is easy to wear, forgiving on lower quality music files and won't break seal that easily I might want to get one |

How does the PL-20 compared to the Hpm-70? Is it obviously better in all aspects?
The only IEM earphone I've ever had is the Hpm-70 and it is really good, I don't know how it can get better than that. Recently, I broke my Hpm-70 and I'm really interested to try other IEM, perhaps the PL-20 can bring the music to another level And by 'bass' do you guys mean the 'boom' sound in techno song? I don't listen to those kinda song but the bass in rock/jazz/pop/whatever song is really important to me as well |

PL30 also very souce dependant...ok back to soundmagic.... i have pl21 and i think i can still hear good music even thou low quality mp3 files... my advice thou... go rip to wav files... Has a rather fast sound, so pairing it with something that sounds laid back, smooth but detail is necessary Ear tips is the most important when using PL-30. They sent around 7 pair of tips in the package, only ONE give me best fit! ONE! The others don't have any bass and poor isolation. Yeah, agree with you rip to lossless is the best. Added on December 15, 2009, 8:23 pmBTW, you guys know where to get new FOAM tips? i think the one soundmagic provided is going to wear out soon.... Owner of PL20 here! Not sure if i've posted here before... Anyway, they're an amazing IEM for it's price. I would say it's an upgrade from my previous Creative EP-630. There's not much bass, but that's why i got them in the first place. Sounds great for easy listening songs. And it really does improve after about 2 days of burn in. Not sure how to say, but i think the midrange and low frequencies improved the most after burn in. Comfort could be an issue initially, but u'll get used to it. Now i can even wear them to sleep.

PL11 ? hahaha, maybe later-lah since i already got something else to cater for my bass needs. or maybe if i managed to saved enough to get it. either one. |
