Thats PL-20, i guess you are a bass head? What type of songs do u listen? PL-20 is famous for its clarity.

My previous headphone is philips SHS390, planning to change to in ear, so i get PL20, it sounded very much better than pl 20. Never thought that the bass is so weak compare to it. I can barely feel anything in terms of bass.
I listens to any songs, chinese pop, english rock, pop, rap..etc.

QUOTE(ClieOS @ Jun 28 2009, 09:56 AM)
PL11 would have been a better choice if you are looking for bass.

Sigh, maybe bought the wrong model. At first I really thought it is manufacture defect. If PL20's is really that weak, so i guess im more suited for PL11. A big difference from my SHS390.

I might get myself a decent bass IEM, was wondering how is PL11 when compared to SHE8500, 9550, 9600 and 9700, or is there any other decent bassy iem at the price range of rm70-100.

The problem of coming off from a bass heavy phone is that everything else sounds like no bass. If you have the patience, try to adjust to the new sound first before making any rush judgment. Take your time to enjoy the overall quality of the sound instead of the quantity of the bass.

I never hear the SoundMagic before but I do owned one of the Klipsch Custom series which is the Klipsch Custom-3, I think I've to tell you that the Klipsch Custom SQ is more to bright side, clarity is gd no doubt but the overall bass is kinda weak, only the mid bass is pretty gd IMO, the bass of Klipsch IEM is like "dup dup" this kind, unlike Sennheiser or Sony which is the "boom boom" type, haha.

Yeah for its value. Meaning PL30 is only the best among iems that are worth the same.

What I'm trying to say is that the Klipsch has bright, high clarity but low bass, so one should avoid getting Klipsch if he's a basshead, I can't commend on the PL-30 coz I've nvr heard it before.

Should we even compare Klipsch Custom 1 and SoundMagic PL30 in the fist place? =/

They're in different range right? Not to mention the huge price difference.

If you are new, the right way to do is to set a budget first, then read review and find the one that fit your taste. If you have more specific question after that, you post and ask. If you don't have a clean idea of what you are looking for, you'll end up getting the wrong headphone you want.

...as for the previous post, I mean: not that good (that it can compare to to Custom 1)

Perhaps it's the source (device which plays your music).

Portable music players as well as phones are probably not so good of a music source compared to the pc.
