Hey guys need you advice here, I'm considering getting an electric guitar and attend classes, if I feel it's necessary that is.

Anyways, I've been playing acoustic casually for the past two years now, performed a few times playing the rythm part. I wanna get an electric that costs around RM800-RM2000 at most. The genres of music that I'm particularly interested in is Blues and Rock, no heavy metal shredding stuff o.o

That's a nice budget that you got there my friend - around RM2k I mean...

I would go for a mid-range Ibanez like a RG370 or RG350 and spend a little extra on changing the bridge pickup to a DiMarzio or something. This will give you something that will last as you get better.

For blues, a Fender is the best. A Mexican Strat is just slightly higher than your price range but is a versatile guitar.

Of course, if budget is a factor, I could recommend some other guitars around your budget range... good luck!

Meh, If possible i would like to avoid the upper RM1500 range. What about the cheaper Epiphone LP's? Are they playable? I actualyl considered Squier strats but I'm afraid the sub-par handwork would impair it's performance.

go to ck music.......you should try Hamer guitar there(mostly double cut body).....I just bought a Hamer XT series (SATF model)few days ago....

and....wow!!!this gitar is very good.....even it is made in indonesia.......price tag rm 1200...got it rm 1045........I think it is better than epi les paul....

i think bentley is selling the marshall haze 40 for like RM2500 or something, i saw it there like 2 weeks ago, i can't really remember for sure.. any comments on the sound of the amp though? looks pretty interesting.

How much is an Epi LP100 and Epi LP Std these days?

I've heard a lot bout SX, are their les paul copies on par with Epi's LP 100?

epi lp100 .. the cheapest price i have seen before is rm 792
epi LP standard is 2k
