hi all guitarists.

my friend had asked me to recommend him an electric guitar and an amp for a budget of rm1000. i told him to get a squire and a microcube.but i forgot he's lefthanded.does squire has left-handed guitars? if they do which shops sell them?

oh and any other suggestions for left-handed guitar and amp below rm1k? i think he can stretch a bit if exceeding rm100-200.

thanks

They do have it ... But I would recommend Ibanez / Yamaha over Squire . For the amp , Doesn't have to be Roland M-Cube for a starter if you're talking about that microcube.

Just house practice , 10 / 15 watt amp enough.

2 watts ? You mean the Marshall Microcube ? The really small one ? Ibanez Gio series or SX series . Yamaha would be good also for the Pacifica .

Hi all,

Looking for advice and opinion here.
I've been playing classical guitars for quite some years.
Now wanna try acoustic guitar.

1. Should I buy a beginner acoustic guitar such as Yamaha F310 or other recommendation?

2. Is it good idea for me to buy an electric acoustic guitar instead with a budget Rm500 maybe? Any suggestion?

3. Wondering, can those electric acoustic guitar plug into those hi-fi / home theater amp?

Thanks in advance for anyone who willing to enlighten me. cool.gif

if u have the money, or at least anything quite abit more than RM300, then dont go for the F310.
for RM300, the F310 may be good value...but u still get what u pay for.

around the RM500 range, the takamine D-series is highly recommended.
i've tried a couple and its definitely miles ahead of the F310.

there is no point paying extra for electric acoustic if ur not gonna be performing.
most cheap ones with electrics have crappy ones anyway.
but if u wanna check some out, woh fatt sells the Fina brand...solid tops / no idea what pickup / RM500+.

also why do u wanna plug into hi-fi? unless ur seriously deaf and cant hear the sounds of an unplugged acoustic.

takamine d-series the rm500+ is pure acoustic...not sure if got electric acoustic.
but it feels much more solid and nicely build compared to all the F310's i tried.
anyway, bentley sells them.

the neck feels better for me, and most importantly the fretjob also is so so so much better than the F310.

if ur looking at Yamaha tho, the one thats higher up from F310...the F370 is pretty decent with much better fretjob than F310...but that i think is RM700...tho at that price can look at other brands that can offer more tongue.gif

Hi all im new to the guitar. I am planning to get one soon but i dont have a big budget. Im not looking for electric. Just something i can take out and play at my pleasure. Any recommendation ?

I saw some pau chia and ibanez today in penang island and they were priced at RM380 and RM360 respectively. That should be around my budget but if an increment of RM100 for something relatively better. I might make the go for it.

Please give me your thoughts and recommendations.

Is every music shop also selling the same brand?
Which is the recommended guitar to look for those guitar?
I plan to buy an acoustic guitar, good padded casing, capo, etc.
Will decide on which guitar to buy after testing and 'feel'ing it.

hi..... just want to tell but my trip to cmmusic(skudai johor), was there to change my gtar tuner, coz yesterday i bought the wrong one. i want the one that have metronome, but i was soo dumb that i though every chromatic tuner have built in metronome..... so they were kind enough to let me change although i forgot to bring the receipt, bcoz the bos still remember me... and yesterday when i do my shopping, they took my name, hp num and address . they said if got clicnic/function, they will inform me, coz maybe im interested..... so when i was waiting for the boss, bcoz he was servicing somebody else, i browse around and saw an OLP stingray copy bass(4 strings) price at rm1000+-, but not more than rm1500 i think.... i heard the company edi stop doing the olp brand, so just want to inform , maybe some of u guys interested with OLP bass... and there was also 2nd hand guitars, i saw an ltd, a sammick(RM530), ibanez rg...
so thats it... just want to share some info smile.gif

Just came back from Guitar Store @ Damansara Perdana .
They didn't sell Yamaha or Takamine.
Was being recommended a Farida D8. Rm500++, within my budget.
Not bad, sounds quite good and easy to play with.
Didn't buy yet. Still wanna try other guitar.
Preferable not the 'classical' colour anymore, since already own 2.

for those beginner electric guitar player........

as the first step....with your budget around RM 1000.....

for strat...get SX or Squire.....
for LP ....get SX....or Craftman...or Samick....LP price is quite high..

get a secondhand amplifier (cheaper)...10-20watts...around RM 150-250

get a multieffect...can get new Zoom G1 or G1x around RM 300

find them in classified/garage sales thread.....got many good secondhand stuff there...mostly performance as same as a new ones...

...just helping and giving some tips....... icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

I went to Bentley bukit bintang to check out the guitars... they only have squier thou... so din get to try SX...
But the squiers' conditions are below my expectations... There's an MII squier standard, which i think is quite beautiful, it costs 1100 inm b4 bargain.... and according to the attendant, it has a pivot bridge(is it better?)

Anywhere else i can check out SX?
