QUOTE(Charmingirl @ Nov 16 2009, 08:53 PM) Hi all, I'm looking for winter wear, may i know where to buy cheaper winter wear in KL? Please advise. Thank you. depends. 2nd hand winter jackets u can buy in summit subang. probably at smaller malls also you can get. or buy from ebay/lelong. new ones you cna buy at klang bukit tinggi jusco mall. at the ground floor i forgot what the outlet's name. if you dont mind you can hunt around some FOS and reject shop outlets. They also do carry winter wear. if you're looking for heavy winter wear which is meant for negative temperatures, my advice is to use ski clothings. brands are important as we chinese say "yat fun chin yat fun for" meaning dollar to dollar for quality. my winter jacket (ski jacket) has lasted me for 14 years now. RM 4000.

This has been extensively discussed in the existing Korea thread.
Anyway, since no such topic so far, probably maintain this now.
Depending on which date in Nov & checking the history weather chart (Can google), In Early till mid Nov, Korea weather is ~ 10-15C..Thus you need not a down (Young bird fether) jacket. thicker sweater will do.
However if Mid- end nov, temp probably drop to 5-10C and thus a good thick jacket is important (probably mixture of down & feather)
Down jacket is important if you are going there after Nov or Dec.
Places to buy winter clothing here includes those winter clothing shops such as Universal Travelers, Winter Times and even Going Places
You can google the locations of these chained stores..Most of them located at big shopping malls.

If you are the stylo mylo type, perhaps you can try Zara. They have some nice jackets (male & female). But bloody expensive!!

I'm going to China next wk and from my research the temp is ranging form 15C to 5C so i'm looking for advise on how heavy my jacket needs to be. I have this problem everytime i agak-agak when i'm there by the time my next trip comes around i can't judge properly how thick jacket i need. Would fleece only be enough or would i need a padded jacket as well.
Would appreciate it if anyone has opinion to share.
Thanks.

It is not how thick or how heavy the jacket is, it how windproof the jacket is! The wind chill factor is the one that will freeze your joints and bones! Are you there for business or leisure tours? Most of the time indoors or outdoors?

OUTDOORS all the way!! i'm goin to jiuzhaigou. So my jackets range from light fleece to heavier and a waterproof. I'm thinkin 1 fleece n the waterproof which shud take care of the wind chill factor and drizzle if it happens.

Thinking of those shoes too..UT selling at RM90 for child & adult ~ RM110.
However, I was told can get cheaper in Korea? or those to Beijing can get cheaper there too...So going wth leather shoe nia..see whether can walk on slippery surface, if can't buy there haha

QUOTE(sassy_chiq @ Nov 8 2010, 10:42 PM) Leather boots with thick sole. Crack thin ice with boots b4 walking cos very slippery. Better to walk on snow covered area than ice.
