Just wear nice thick socks, will do just fine. Only thing you need to worry about are ears, lips and fingers shakehead.gif

Yup, for toes, fur lined shoes will be enough. Even sneakers will do if you don't get them wet.

Winter gloves sometimes not enough. I wear latex gloves for additional protection laugh.gif

I'm heading to a ski resort in Korea. Where do I get affordable waterproof ski pants for females in Malaysia?
*
I believe they had them available on rentals. The last time I went skiing in Japan they had everything available for rent.

vaseline or any moisturizer / lip balm should be OK. just need to keep your lips moisturized cos it's very dry in winter. keep a good watch on your skin on your body as well particularly the inside thighs area and put body lotion / vaseline / moisturizer if you feel the skin's getting dry.

1. glove/mask is not needed. long john as well
2. lip balm and moisturizer cream as weather will be very dry
3. jacket preferable 2 or 3 layer depend on ur body tolerance to cold weather
4. shoes preferable is leather else if sport shoes make sure dont have alot of holes else when strong wind you will know what i mean

please check the weather for real feel and how strong is the wind.
sometimes if the wind is strong and 14 degree can make a lot of diff

A good windbreaker. It's the winds that will kill you.

How cold it is depends on person to person. If you cannot tahan cold one, layering is your saviour. I'd pack more tees (I usually travel with Uniqlo's heat-tech tees), 1 light fleece jumper, 1 heavier/warmer coat (mine's wool and it's very cosy). Only need to change/launder the tees. If very cold, layer the tees.

A warm cosy scarf can make a lot of difference. My fleece jumper has a hood. If not, I'd bring a beanie hat. Covering my head also makes a huge difference when the winds are strong. Since my hands and fingers as susceptible to the cold, I also need gloves.

You can buy the smaller items like scarves and gloves and beanies at really low prices at places like H&M and the like there so no need to buy and pack so many from here. They've got way more choices there as well.

I was in the UK in September/October and wasn't all that cold. I could walk around in just tee and jeans with a light jumper on a good (sunny) day. In the evenings, I needed the heavier coat though.

Depends on places you're going to..if you'll spend more time outdoor, better get a waterproof jacket as it rains a lot around August-September. Fairly it's not too cold, you could survive without jacket if it's not raining or get too windy.

Guys, Im planning for snow activities during my stay in Hokkaido. Since its first time for me as a kampung ppl to go to snow areas.

I would like to enquire what type of boots should I purchase. Is it as long it is water proof then I good to go or there any other attributes I need to look for?

As for clothes, can anyone teach me how to layer it? First layer=thermal inner, 2nd layer= thick clothes, 3rd layer= waterproof treksuit, 4th layer= jackets. Is this correct?

Sorry for the stupid questions.

Just remember that for long johns there are different materials and different thicknesses. All depends on how warm you wanna be (and how cold a place you are going to).

You can also find them in shops like Universal Traveller, Wintertime, etc.
