Well, if you mash buttons like I do. Irregardless whether you play online or offline, it'll still come out. Just keep the faith and MASH! Lol.

Ok, back to business. There is actually no such thing as what works online or offline. Just a matter how bad the lag affects you. What you can do offline, most definitely you'll be able to pull it off online. It's still the same game you're playing after all. Only a matter of how bad the lag affects your input timing.

I personally think that offline is the ONLY way to play. No offense, but PSN doesn't really live up to expectation. And I dislike the idea of spending 30 minutes (or more) finding/selecting an opponent, only to leave the lobby because the lag is unbearable.

Just my two cents.

This,i found myself doing this most of the time T_T
I would be grateful if i found the connection with minimum of 2 or 3 bars

Anyone wanna have a match? i desperately want to against players, let me know what time you guys normally play.

I only met one very good Abel player so far(just starting play SF4 online last Monday)

If you wanna fight good Abel's, just drop by to Outpost Cafe this coming 19th April. To my knowledge, there's gonna be 2 very good Abel's at Outpost that day. The players' names are Mike and Edwin (or is it Eddy?). Check them out!

Once again, offline is the way to go. Unless, of course, there is no other way. Then PSN will have to do.

Input lag affects offline play significantly.

I realised this against symphony the other day where I can't jab him after he hits me with Gief's Green Hand (which I should be able to). That's why I said, would it work offline, because input lag can help certain characters tremendously. I also can't, say, bulldog online either. Not effectively, anyway. More like walk forward don't block get hit. And using AAs can be tricky too.

That's why I was questioning whether EX Elec after Blanka Ball is really a good idea or not. I've seen people get away with many things with lag and I've also seen myself get away with certain things with lag.

If you come over on the 19th we can find out. brows.gif

Well, under different scenarios or circumstances, of course there is a different set of moves to execute. The whole key to fighting games is to be RANDOM. I'm no text-book player, so don't expect me to do the same stuff over and over and over and over and over, did I mention over? Yes! And over and over and over again. Lol

Anyway, I'm not exactly that much of a technical player. I just play by instinct, muscle memory and also gut feeling.

And I just play the green dude for fun. Has yet to invest anytime in him yet. Now experimenting with a new character. And if you come over on the 19th, you'll find out as well. LOL.

I didn't say you did it over and over again, I was just asking if that was really a good idea in lagless conditions, that's all. tongue.gif

I'm trying to get the hang of Viper's shockwave > superjump flame kick > Ultra myself. For fun. Cause Viper is fun.

...until I lose. sad.gif

M first match was a very darn lag match online
Only 1 bar connection and I just played

Lost the first round, wont he 2nd round, third round deciding match, he was using Ken, I was using Ryu. He release a fireball, and I just tried Metsu Hadouken, inputted and 3 seconds later only performed XD

But of course, in the end, he got my Metsu Hadouken instead and I won by luck sweat.gif

Avoid playing with less than 3 bars, 4 bars is preferable. That's the best chance to play the game smoothly. I will get pissed when I repeatedly can't block or miss moves with lag.

Many players are 1 bar or nothing and I wonder how many bars do people get on their ISPs on overseas. I would think it's Screamyx's fault.

I heard in a few topics SRK that a quite a number of them also get a lot of 1 bars. So it's not just us.

And regardless of bars, the only time I've had decent enough connection without bad amounts of lag would be against Malaysians, so far.

Some players who puts Japanese as their language has good connections. Well, don't know whether the player behind using Japanese is a real Japanese or not though. And yeah, Screamyx is screwing around as usual.
