dis is b coz there bit different for the reference cooler.

4870 heatsink uses 2 8mm heat pipe, where 4890 uses 1 8mm & 2x6mm, total 3.
in terms of fan speed, for the 4890 bios, ATI adjust it sightly higher den 4870, dats y it is cooler & noisier.

current Cat 9.3 do not have any info on RV790 (cat 9.3 released on 3rd week of march, while HD4890 released on 2 April 2009..), need to use the driver from bundled disc...(which is Cat 9.4 beta)

Cat 9.4 will recognize HD4890

and as for clear cmos, i have no idea why must do that laugh.gif

some nice info on HD4890 : http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=90117&page=2

1) Two users that bump their vgpu to 1.35(stock : 1.31) able to hit 1000Mhz core clock (im not sure either they have golden chip or not, but worth a try)
2) 1200Mhz memory speed (4800Mhz) is achievable with air cooling.

they use VoltageFactory to bump the vgpu : http://www.awardfabrik.de/forum/showthread.php?t=5707

good luck to HD4890 user brows.gif

Pergh, I don't even know how to do those things so, I'm not dare enough to do it. tongue.gif
Will try to google and gain some knowledge about it anyway.

Btw, I contacted the Sapphire Tech Support Center to ask them about the HD4890 driver and they replied to me saying that the driver will be available sometime this week. icon_rolleyes.gif
