for those who plans to play the upcoming resident evil 5 & own an ATI card, u just hav 2 install the new driver (9.9)

tested fixed benchmark on DX10 mode.

game setting: all max out, 8xAA, 1920*1080 resolution, vsync on wit refresh rate capped @ 60Hz
h/w setting: refer to my siggy.

b4 dis on 9.8 - average of ~45fps

now on 9.9 - solid 60fps (tek note dat setting capped the max fps @ 60)

thumbs up for 9.9......... thumbup.gif

p/s, dun ask for screenshot, coz for some reason, my screen shot turns out 2 b a black blank page wen i paste it on paint...... sweat.gif

Apparently, tomshardware.com contacted Capcom and they mentioned that the directX 10 and 9 versions are visually the same except for the DirectX10 version to have lower fps and support for Nvidia 3D goggles. blink.gif

heres the source

Update: After a bit of waiting, we were plugged in to the game's developers in Japan, who let us know that there is zero difference between the DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 code paths available in the demo. Thus, if you run the demo on ATI hardware, be sure to use the DirectX 9 path. For the purpose of these tests, again, don't bother comparing performance, as the Radeon HD 4870 X2s should be significantly quicker. If you're running Nvidia hardware, it's also safe to go with DirectX 9. The DirectX 10 option is the way to go for playing through GeForce 3D Vision shades.

Update 2: There's a hotfix that ATI says adds CrossFireX support to Resident Evil 5, available here. This was not the problem we were experiencing here, it turns out, though. With the hotfix applied, our results in the DirectX 10 version of the demo were still at or under 40 frames per second. The real issue is, in fact, the DirectX 10 mode of the game. Re-running 2560x1600 with 4xAA results in a score of 104.6 frames per second (higher than a pair of GeForce GTX 285s on the Core i5 platform). If you're testing your ATI-based GPU in this one, make sure you use DX9!

there's a custom exe launcher which allows moust and kb.
i tried it, but to aim with mouse using the bypass is even harder than using keyboard.

ha ha~in this case, i rather play it in DX9 and spend RM198 to get a wireless XBOX 360 controller for Windows (*at Thundermatch / ALIT)... (*no need to get a console while we already had a nice PC...a controller can make our ordinary PC into console.. moreover, there are lots of games can play with the controller; e.g.: HAWX, Gears of War, GRID, Need for Speed series, Burnout Carnage, GTA & etc.)~ tongue.gif

There's actually a pretty robust modding community for RE4, I remember a forum providing large amounts of mods ranging from texture re-placers to additional HDR lighting. You should be able to find the HDR mod here ENB series
