Got my Mamba last week.
Awesome mouse, just awesome.

I'm using it at 2000dpi, just as I did with my previous Copperhead and Lachesis. Might just pump it up to 4000dpi for certain fast paced games.

Tracking on the Destructor is flawless, perhaps better than the Lachesis.

If I have any complaints about it at all, it would be the awfully hard to open packaging (need more than one person to yank it open, which is ridiculous), and the fact that it doesn't come with a driver (had to download it off the internet).

I've been using it on a Destructor pad, and it's working flawlessly.

Tried it on a Goliathus Control Ed and it tracks fine, but the cursor tends to move a little when i click, so I wouldn't recommend anyone to use your Mamba on a Goliathus Control Ed. I have yet to try Goliathus Speed though.

According to Razerzone, apparently the optimum surface for the Mamba is the eXactmat. My eXactmat is totally worn out on both sides, so I can't really compare it to the Destructor. Using the Mamba on my (worn out) eXactmat, it felt quite decent, but the eXactrest was a little annoying, as i rest my arm on the pad when i use the Mamba.

I've emailed Razer to ask about why they recommend the eXactmat over the Destructor for use with the Mamba, but i have yet to receive a reply. When I do, I'll post their answer here.

I'd have to respectfully disagree with you there, mate. I think the packaging is great. And when you're pricing a premium product, it doesn't really hurt to add the wow factor to it, even if it would add to the price a bit.

The fancy packaging gives it exactly that, a massive wow factor over any other mice. And if it indeed added an extra RM20 to the price, so be it. After all, RM20 wouldn't be a deal breaker when buying something at this pricerange right?

it doesnt come with a driver, cos the first thing anyone should do is check razerzone for updates tongue.gif
im sure u already know if got CD driver also, doesnt mean its the latest, could be few versions old since its been lying in the store shelf for awhile.
then who knows, maybe some smart nub somewhere may update firmware, but then go install the old driver from the CD and mess stuff up or something tongue.gif

i will take a guess saying its cos the sensor hasnt got enough distance between it and the pad on a softer surface.
if u check one of blacktrix's older post, he also complained to razer of the sensor tracking so they're sending him a teflon ring to place around the sensor, basically increasing distance between sensor and pad.
tho that sensor tracking problem turned out to be more of how he held the mouse tongue.gif

i also remember DA or lachesis having a similar sensor problem tho, until the users added on extra mouse feet to increase the sensor distance to pad.

Did any tarantula users update their firmware and driver to the latest one?

http://www.razersupport.com/index.php?_m=d...=6&pcid=0&nav=0

seems like the new drivers don't support windows Vista

Well actually my Mamba came with the Teflon ring already attached around the sensor.
I think only the very first (few) batches of the Mamba came without it (there will be a silver sticker saying '3.5G Laser Sensor' or something to that effect around the sensor). Having gotten a lot of complaints about it, i guess they now ship out the Mamba with the Teflon ring as standard.

Yup, the Charging Dock also acts as the wireless receiver.
I'm loving the dock, as it puts the Mamba right where it belongs - on a pedestal =)

Is there any Piranha user here?
Wanna confirm that is the headset adjustable?
As in you can pull it long/short to fit your head size.

I only know it doesn't work well with my everglide titan and the cheap war craft edition razer goliathus. Coz it moves a bit when i click it on both surface. While my diamond back doesn't move at all when i even double click

* Approximate size: 128mm (length) x 70mm (width) x 42.5mm (height)
Thats for the specs realy..

Ok.About the casing it looks something like this
user posted image

Its contains:
1.The mouse itself
2.The Box.
3.The Master Guide
4.Certificate of Authentication
5.Introduction manual
6.And a razer deathadder speech about it

Here's the pics(note that the black razer envelop contains 3-5)
Some say it may have sticker.IT MAY

Then,
The Mouse design is said alredy. Its for right handed gamers only.I MEAN ONLY because i tried it with my left hand.It SUXXX
user posted image
The side buttons are dust collectors. So make sure you keep away if you pick your nose or swipe you sweat sweat.gif

COMPARISON
i compare the size with a optical mouse which is found everywhere..(I got the genius from popular smile.gif )
user posted image
Well,The size is quite big and for those who wanted to buy DA..I highly reccomend u tried it first.

The other thing is they have Teflon feet.(note that teflon feet glide for accuracy. The genius mouse feet only glide effortlessly which may lead to disaster to game)
user posted image
The Sensor.
The sensor CAN be seen by human eye!!! shocking.gif Beware. Its not very obvious.Tilt you mouse 45 degree from the front and you'll see the red dot.Yeap thats the 3g sensor.Enjoy nod.gif )Like this
user posted image

Lastly...

All i wanted to say is..This mouse is good for low sensitivity users who wanted to kick ass in cs..I wanted to change to lachesis but the mouse is good enough for me so i have no reason to change now.For new DeathAdder users. You might think that its same with other mouse but!!!when you tweak it a bit,You see that your mouse is very precise.(note that the world's living legend..SK-SpaWn uses only 900-1000 dpi only shocking.gif )Isnt that prooves it.

For those razer haters..All i wanted to say is that you may have bad time in razer products but i can assure you,it depends how you take care of the mouse and what condition you put in

Way to Elongate the Mouse's life.
1.The rubber topping is just a TOPPING it may come off so,wash your hand before using it or just clean the mouse with soft cloth or smooth tissue(NO toilet rolls please!!)
2.The Sensor cathces dust easily.Use a cotton bud and dip it into a little bit of WARM water and just clean it.(DONT POOK IT)
3.Use mousepads. For me im still using steel series QcK....Never use it on any hard surface like wooden table or SAND PAPER to test it.It wears your mouse feet away in less than a month.(from my friend)

That's all folks hope you enjoy the review

enriquelee, The "Jitter when Click" is not the issue of the mousepad, it's the way you hold/click the mouse. I already posted this a few pages back:

http://help.razersupport.com/us-en/resolut...y&rid=400000923

Sidenote, I switched to a Destructor and the jittering stops a little, but I also changed the way I grip the mouse......
