QUOTE(ed0gawa)
Sorry to say this.
Know your own situation first lo.

Basic only RM1.3k
Other is allowances and commission.

Commission CONFIRM will get meh? Nope.
Basic pay is what you are confirmed getting as long as you work. Commission is not. That is how the bank look at it.
IF they reject your case, most probably they only take your basic pay into consideration.
Some bank do accept allowances & commission. All you need to do is show them the proof.

QUOTE(ed0gawa)
Why need EA form?

Salary slip can be doctored. Can be printed easily. Can be cash voucher. Can be signed by anyone.
But if you pay slip and bank statement and EA form and CPF tallies then they take it as genuine. Ofcos, you can say that EA form/EPF/Bank Statement can be doctored too, but if you managed to doctor it till no one can find a flaw, i would say u deserve the card.

Those credit people can be so experienced that they can actually tell if it is a fake or real stuff by a glance (i am saying some).
That is right but not all banks asking for EA form as mandatory. 3 months income statements is sufficient.

QUOTE(ed0gawa)
Like they say, there are so many banks, try 1 by 1 lo.
Try RHB Tesco card... i got mine approved although i submit the application for fun with a copy of credit card which is only 6/7 month old. Normally they wont accept unless the card is more than 12 months. But who knows why it got approved. And no, i have no accounts/facilities with RHB, my track record ain't exactly great, i have a quite a bit of outstanding though
Some banks such as Ambank accept other credit card at least 6 months old (Ambank write this in their application form). I do not know about RHB but 12 months credit cards not really necesary.

how to get a platinum card?
I got 18k CL. But only classic/gold.
*
To apply platinum by using existing card, I think you can try to use your 18k limit CC but card with 20k limit is better. Or else if your annual income >80k you can apply for public bank & CIMB platinum card. Stadard chartered only asking for 60k annual income.

Not really just based on income. If you have a fat bank account you'll be given a huge CL too.
Yes, big fat bank account with the bank you are going to apply for their credit card.
*
Let say I want to increase my credit limit, and I deposit big amount, do you think they will approve? What account normally to deposit? FD? If I have 50k FD can I ask for 50k credit limit?

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Mar 17 2009, 01:50 AM)
So you think that if you have RM50k worth of FD with the respective bank they will approve you a Platinum credit card with RM50k of CL ? That's a definite no-no. The minimum requirement to become HSBC Premier customer is to have RM200k of deposit with them and they will approve you a "Premier Mastercard" with only RM40k of CL. Say that you have RM1 Million of FD with HSBC, yes, of course you can request to them to increase you CL. Just don't expect to get 1:1.
*
QUOTE(Reventon @ Mar 17 2009, 03:26 AM)
I remember one of the forummer mention before about the 1:1 FD tied Credit Card CL, not really sure about that because none of my card are FD tied. Anyone here can confirm this myth ?
*
The quote below taken from Public Bank Website. They can do 1:1 based on FD for platinum cards. biggrin.gif

QUOTE
For Public Bank Fixed Deposit (FD) customers who opt to apply PB Credit Card secured by FD, the credit line assigned will be based on the FD Pledged amount at a ratio of 1:1. To apply, please personally submit your application at your FD account holding branch and bring along your FD certificate for verification and photostat copy of your NRIC (both sides).

Hi everyone

Can I just confirm does RHB Travel Card still offer 2% rebate for all petrol brands?

I am thinking of taking either the RHB travel card or CIMB Petronas

I am taking Petronas fuel all the time.. but which one you guys think will be more suitable and better since both don't have any T&C on free annual fee
*
Yes, RHB extend it to 30th June 2009. smile.gif

ONE card got many fine print just becareful,if never full fill the terms you will get charge for the annual fee of 300++
*
Agree, UOB seem to put a lot of fineprint. I was itend to apply also before because they have a good cash rebate at hypermarket but after looking at at their T&C, I cancel my plan. Seem like difficult to get the cash rebate. Anyone have experience on redemtion on the cash rebate?

@GHz,
Always know what it takes to redeem something - banks really aren't stewpid ya smile.gif  What they advertise or say are basically just uhm... something to lure u with conditions attached.
*
that is right but i think uob T&C is really excessive. read a few times only understand. rclxub.gif
Also notice that Hong Leong credit card also have excessive T&C for their cash back. Citibank not much further. Other I think is quite resonable.

QUOTE(Shinichi @ Mar 21 2009, 07:19 PM)
Just curious, when annual fee is charged in our statement and we cancelled the card, do we still need to pay it?
Is there any case where bank let you cancel the card but still charge you for the fee?
*
I think you do not to pay I think as annual fee is paid upfront.

Hi GHz, Im a UOB 2 card user. mind to elaborate what do you mean by excessive? maybe i should know a few thing i didnt notice after using the card for so long  blush.gif

So far so good, no complain. For the annual fee, they would give you 2 card, you just need to swipe it for 6times each for each card. I think this is better than citibank Choice card where you need to swipe twice a month.

For UOB card, you can just swipe at the 12th month to waive the annual fee. Other than petrol, they got a min 0.3% cash back for all purchase.

I usually redeem the cash back while watching movie at GSC

Might not be the best but it'll do for me  thumbup.gif
*
Cannot really remember I read it quite sometimes ago & later on decide not to apply for that card, Here some what I remember,

1. Need to have both VISA & Master card & swipe both at least 6 times a years. Why need to hold 2, 1 is enough lor. I think only visa card have the most benefit.
2. Petrol rebate only for the first RM70 only & maximum of rm400 per month. Now maybe ok since petrol price already low but for me every time fill still >rm70.
3. Cash rebate only can redeem at certain location only. For me I do not know where i can redeem. I seldom go to cinema like you. Cannot redeem at hypermarket.
4. They say 2% cash rebate at hypermarket but actually it base on block & min purchase of rm100.

maybe got some more jut cannot really remember. I guess they make it difficult so that they do not need to give the cash rebate for some people who do not really read it.

Which bank is that? Are they offering to you only or open to anybody else?

QUOTE(hye @ Mar 25 2009, 01:23 PM)
Agreed. We don't teach anyone or condone anyone here threatening the banks. If they don't want to give you waiver, then just proceed to cancel the card. No big deal. Again, if you have not been using the card - don't expect the banks to be nice to you. The seniors here have been a good paymaster, use the card regularly and generously. If you follow these rules, I don't think the bank will say no to you.

Again, we never threaten the bank or use dirty tactics. AF waivers are conditional and the banks will look at the way you have been paying and using your card - PERIOD . (Unless you are using those free for life cards)
*
Correct! If you are really do not want to pay AF, then get CC that is Free For Life Without Condition. So easy!
