well i mean that we will go there and back on the same route.. so transportation might be less of a problem..
I have did peak via Pangsoon in a leisurely pace for 5 hours.. but it can make things a lot slower when it's rainy season, I remember there's a portion which is rather muddy..

The way via Janda Baik, i might want to do one time peak via Janda Baik to have a feel how it looks like.. going down could be faster.. I think I went down to Pangsoon from peak around 3 hours..
hmm it's not really a run lol.. just a normal walk..
Saga peak is the name the local gives to this peak which enable you to access this hill from Ampang, it's actually Ahpek hill hike (various confusing names for this hill). Lots of exercise equipment that the local build on it..
In Saga peak, there's a lot of tents and shelter (overhead canvas? or what you call it). From there you can see a little of Ampang and KLCC from one of the window near the slope.

Actually I thought that our locals behind too "kind" sometimes and overdeveloped these trails.. they are constantly building stuff, clearing more trails.. causing more erosion too.. I am not sure if that's something that everyone wants..

Recently I went to the hill in Puchong (they call it wawasan?).. It is suppose to be a research forest reserve by UPM, I felt bad trespassing into it.. Worse when the local try to "build" stuff again..

Trust me if it is raining and via JB you expecting tiger leech attack. It is not that difficult but why do trans Nuang when you are heading back to the same way.

Lets make a graph out of it
Pangsoon > Nuang Peak 5 hours
Nuang > Lata Chemperoh 2 hours
Lata Chemperoh > Nuang 2 hours
Nuang > Pangsoon 7 hours (assumingly you guys are demoralized)
Assuming 5+2+2+7: 16 hours

Let me explain the confusion where most Malaysian unaware. Ah Pak hill is the one located near to the waterfall. Saga hill is another small stop area via Jalan Saga 28. The whole area actually called Bukit Puteh forest reserve. The actual peak of Bukit Puteh forest reserve (approximate 420m if I am not mistaken) was marked with a beirut at Route C via Saga.

I did attempt to find the actual Puchong hill or some called Wawasan. There is a beirut that mark that location as well but after 4 attempts on locating it and fail, lazy wanna do that anymore smile.gif Trespassing is the biggest issue as the land is owned by the Selangor Government and lease to UPM Forestry department for research purposes. There is a deep pool approximate 12 ft deep. The last time I went it is still pristine. Not sure about now. Trespassing will cost us RM10,000 if not mistaken but the local are not bothered. Biasala Malaysia style!

Looks like you are one hell experienced hiker xD..
I been hiking in Europe a little, likes that it is always dry and leech free, and less sweat too, but the weather and terrain can be a lot more unpredictable..

Yeah 16 hours is what the time it takes in my mind too.. The last portion of returning route is always soul crunching..

As stated in my profile, I used to be a hiker but slow down due to certain commitments and tragedy.

Hiking in other countries have different feeling. Weather would be nice (not humid biggrin.gif), wild animals could be roaming freely, park are well maintained unlike Malaysia - all pretty hidden, if got mostly not well taken care.

I did tell my group before to do a Trans Nuang. Remember I asking you about the car transportation. I subdivide into two different groups - Group A and B.

One do Pangsoon and the other Janda Baik. Meet up at Nuang peak for a picture before taking the other way back. The catch - have to pass your car keys to the other group so that they are able to drive out and meet to another location for dinner.

Somehow, it failed because most prefer to hike via Pangsoon as the other from JB have to wait long for the group photo at peak biggrin.gif

As mentioned in all my other replies, shall there are any mountains in Malaysia that you would like to ask - feel free to ask and maybe I could help even though I hike very minimal for the past two years.

I prefer not to share with as more people will invade the pristine area. Anyway I found more than 3 entrances to enter to this area besides the Wawasan whistling.gif .

When you want to go? Trust me, nothing much there. First 10-20 minutes lots of rubber tree. Possible the monkeys will try to attack you if you show them any sign of food. Reach to the first peak where there is a small gym on the top like Bukit Saga. Another 5-10 minutes trek to the second peak where you can see the view of ermm housing area.
