so any year end trip anyone? brows.gif

my AL still got a few left. perhaps can go for a week long trip but hasnt start any training yet.. maybe leisure ones up the cameron there, before every single gunung kena tapau by greedy farmers there mad.gif
*
If you are keen to tag along with others, I can introduce you to some. I know there is a group heading to Korbu-Gayong end of December.

Since it is end of the year, hardly people choose to camp due to raining season.

I know Yellow and Swettenham already gone case. Even Yong Belar via Blue Valley also tapau habis.

i dont mine that, just i may not in favour of too hardcore gunungs atm.. big toenails not fully recovered yet haha

so sad yellow n sweetenham i never went there sad.gif
so does jasar, perdah..

recenly my friends also raise up Irau tracks also needs some rehabs too..
*
Jasar Perdah? Easy peasy.

You could try Berembun too.

Jasar from Camelia Garden go straight till the end then keep left then head straight until you see a T junction where there is a fork route on your right. Keep straight and you will reach the electric cable and Jasar peak is behind the forest.

From Jasar you can attempt Perdah, which most of the trek heading downhill. From Jasar peak there are two routes, one on your left and the other on your right. Head right as the left head back to Bharat plantation. About 1 hour to reach the peak. You can opt for a shortcut from Sg Riul whereby you only need 5-10 minutes to reach Perdah peak.

I hope be be be Berembun still remains intact, been there many years ago. I saw Jasar pic it looks nothing like a gunung anymore sad.gif
When did u get there?
*
Jasar? Two years ago I guess. Or maybe last year. Did it too many times last few years.

Remain one of the best place to capture butterflies.

Berembun still intact. Still got wild animals roaming free near Mardi.

Recommended starting trail for Gunung Angsi, anyone? I heard there are 3 alternative routes - Bukit Putus, Ulu Bendol & Panjang R&R. Which is better?
*
Ulu Bendul for the difficult track.

Bukit Putus for a shorter track.

Just a minor difference only.

Long time never active here. LOL!

Hi guys,

I might be climbing Mount Merapi in Indonesia soon. But I just want to gauge like how difficult will the trekking. Recently I've summited Mount Rinjani(Indonesia), so like putting that into perspective, how would Mount Merapi fare comparatively especially the last stretch to the peak?

Thanks.
*
If you can scale Rinjani via Sembalu or Senaru then it should not be an issue for you to scale Merapi. Way easier if you are comparing apple to apple.

How well the track already? Been long didn't go up for a camp.
*
If you are referring to Nuang, the never ending route I understand they already cement it till the first pondok wink.gif

Still well maintain the area. The confusion part now lies at two area - Kem Lolo as usual and the other is near Puncak Pengasih when there is another track head towards Three Borders.

QUOTE(Resha Valentine @ Jan 20 2015, 03:22 PM)
Yeah havent seen you here in quite a while  biggrin.gif  how difficult is difficult for Ulu Bendul? (p/s: the entrance is called 'Ulu Bendul Recreational Park' correct?)
*
Still relatively easy for me. The problem with Ulu Bendul is that you need to find the starting point which is pretty similar to the one like Gunung Datuk - the keris.

It is not near to the car park as you will be walking pass stream convert to swimming pool.

A RM5 fee could be collected, sometimes no people to even collect.

From the trail head, follow those water pipes and you will need to cross two rivers. Not sure whether they already place path for you to bypass those rivers.

One thing you have to aware is the ground wasp along Ulu Bendul trail. If you saw trail that is close with red white tape then take note on the surrounding.

For most, they will opt the Bukit Putus route as both ways will meet at one point mid way. If Bukit Putus make sure take the right turn to the peak. You will know as you would not be silly to go downhill wink.gif

Would it be too tired for day pack?

I thing I need to start jog. All my bone hard liau. Muscle also tiny liau.  sad.gif

Depends where you daypack. Most of my daypack are done within 2-4 hours.

If you are to do Kutu or Nuang then you might be targetting longer duration due to their distance.

That would be moderate at that time. Take half day to explore. If now, maybe hard.

When you mention explore means I got no concern you are capable to finish it. Not easy to explore that area.
