Liang 2D 1N should be good enough. Where you plan to camp? The campsite or peak?
*
I think the second hike camp site, takes 4 hours to walk there

Should be the LWP campsite. From there to peak about 1 hour if I am not mistaken

LOL. You must be insane trying to do it a day trip. I believe you must be carrying very light and minimal from the start.

Rush to campsite, dump those camping things, push to summit before descend down to camp.

You should have went for Liang West sunrise. Quite nice to witness, but some felt that the sunrise is the same old sunrise. Nothing interesting after all. What say you?

Oh ya, how's the leeches?

Not too much, around 13 kg since only a day of camping, was carrying two tents too as my GF couldn't take much.

We did not want to see sunrise as we are bunch of people who had problem to wake up early haha. We opt for the sunset which is already freezing at that moment.

We wanted to start fast but we couldn't find the trail head at first, was wondering around there (didn't know we should go along the river as there's a trespassing sign at the entrance we). One hour wondering around there..

After witnessing the sunset at 7.30pm, took us another 4 hours to descend to our camp which we cooked dinner and serve at 12.30pm.

Good thing did not suffer much muscle ache the next day, just leech bite and bee stung that left me very itchy

13 kg for a day pack is quite an heavy amount. Most people will try to opt for less than 10. Yeah, once you park your car at the area provided (can fit in at least 5 cars if I couldn't recall wrongly, perhaps more or less) then head to the catchment area and walk along the edge then hop through the fence. After that it is quite a straight forward trail. Got any sunset view?

Yeah got one, not superb due to being super cloudy that day.

Trail is straight forward once you found the starting point.

Just did Yong Belar the other day, now the pipe crossing part has been flatten into a vegetable farm.. I think soon Yong Belar will be gone too.. It's only 4 hours one way hike to the summit now, undulating and not too strenuous walk.

Who you went with? Mr. Yap to Yong Belar? Most mountains in Cameron Highlands are under threat. Look at Yellow, Pass, Swettenham and Siku badly affected by the mountain clearing for vegetables/ flowers.

man, it was awesome. took 5 hours to tackle the hike with 3 other friends. though we are going from the opposite direction, which is going up from the jungle trail, then climbing down through the rocks. Less challenge on upper body strength. Never been so thrilled, haha. had been thinking about it since.

Actually i would like to ask sifu for some advice on my day backpack during my hiking in Nepal during November. Estimated temperature at night is zero degree.
So basically we will have a porter following us. So only a minimal day back is enough.

I was thinking to pack,
1 x soft shell
1 x micro fleece
1 x pair of glove
May 1 to 2 L or wafer
Some Food
1 x bennie
Some multitool, headlight, small first aid kid

Is that enough for day pack? I read from some blog saying that some of the time the porter wont keep up with us. They will only meet us at the next rest house.

Do you think will i over pack for the day back ?
Currently i was thinking to get a 30L lafuma pike 30 backpack or to buy a Osprey 22 L Talon backpack.

I was afraid the 30L will be too big for daily use if after the hiking while a 22 L might not enough to pack all the necessary.

Think of what you want to pack then only select a day pack which can fit all.

Recommended wear is a base layer which will be able to keep you warm. A wind resistant jacket is recommended as afraid of windchill. But generally after the early morning i.e. closer to noon, you basically do not need fleece nor jacket because you have the base layer on and the sun is out. But keep those 2 in the day pack just in case you need it. Beanie to keep you from windchill as well. Else a cap to shield your head and face from the striking hot sun is better. You might want to consider sunglass but need to put on suntan lotion else you will become like panda.

Water 2 liter should be ok, don't overweight your day pack unless you are used to weight; else you would wear yourself down. They are tea houses if you are on popular route so drinks can drink there. But again depends on individual person where some drinks more than others. Some dry foods, biscuit and chocolates. For non-muslim can bring all those meat jerky.

Headlight is for safety in case the journey lasted longer than expected. Multitool and first aid kit with medication is for precaution. Trekking pole will help especially on snowy slippery slopes. But some people cannot get use to walking with trekking poles.

That being said, you have to get use to the weight you are carrying.
