Haven't done these, but not really interested to do them either haha..
Yesterday did Nuang from Pangsung again, same boring route with a twist. We did from Pangsung - Summit - Waterfall (halfway from Janda Baik) and backtrack.
It was really tiring, took us 13 hours. I still feel good sore in my thighs now.

Today went to Tabur West for the first time. It's really a nice hiking experience! But from the side view, I seem like Tabur East is much more challenging. I don't get the idea on why Tabur West require a permit while Tabur West doesn't.

Tabur west is much popular, the rest is less known. Thus more accidents..
East is safer IMO, West has high risk of fall hazard.

QUOTE(gs20 @ Jul 7 2014, 12:35 AM) Today went to Tabur West for the first time. It's really a nice hiking experience! But from the side view, I seem like Tabur East is much more challenging. I don't get the idea on why Tabur West require a permit while Tabur East doesn't. More people aware of Tabur West instead of East and Extreme. More people, more possibility incidents will happen. Newbies take Tabur West's gradient lightly and with that incident occurred. Some tried to jump from one stone to another (peak 5 if I am not mistaken), some not being careful when descent down at peak 7/8 (where the two doctors died) and the peak 10 (backtrack using the orchard route). As for Tabur East, the danger part only occurred towards the very end where the vertical climb was. Climbing up is easy but will be a slight challenge when descent. Other than that shouldn't be a problem.

I know there used to be a trail to Chenuang but long time abandon because abundant of wild cats in the woods. Uncertain there are any connection to Nuang at any point.

But it was a ship own by my uncle, he sold it now due to difficulties in maintaining it. I can get you contacts if you still need. I have done it in the seas of Sabah, went off the coast to towards Pulau Tiga (Survival?) and fish from day time throughout mid night. We got more than 30kg of catch for that trip alone.
