A lot of people till date still confuse about Saga and Ah Pek Hill.

If you are hiking from Wawasan, the peak are marked with number from 1 to 7 and hiking from Saga are marked with alphabet A to D.

It depends where you choose to start from, until where you want to hike (Ah Pek hill, Saga Hill, the waterfall, the beirut or do a loop to Ketumbar Hill)

A draft plan looks like this: -

Wawasan (via 1-5) > Ah Pek Hill > Waterfall (via 6) > Saga Hill (keep left) > Beirut (route C) > Jalan Saga 28

Jalan Saga 28 > Saga Hill (via A-C) > Pond (keep left, down) > Ah Pek Hill (keep right) > Waterfall (keep left) > Wawasan (keep right)

I will be entering from Jalan Saga I think, den towards ah pek hill and the waterfall..What is the difference between routes A/B/C?

Route A the most common people use.

Route B the most seldom people use.

Route C the highest peak in the entire area is located there and it is marked with a beirut (metal tent)

From Jalan Saga entry, you will reach Saga Hill first not Ah Pek Hill o.O

Could be pack with people during the weekend. When you are hiking via route C - make sure after the beirut, about 3 minutes ascend, you will meet a fork which meet to route D, avoid that and keep right to head to Saga peak.

As I know Quechua backpack can easily buy in China but not in Malaysia.

The price for Deuter & Karrimor depends on the weight capacity. What are the affordable price you are looking at?

Quechua bags are pretty durable and lightweight. 200-400 could get you a deuter. 30l should not be a problem, 40l might need to add a little.

Head early there. You can hike without permit (if you dare) from 6 AM onwards. They are not there yet till 7.30-9 AM.

I read from some other sources as well but there are friends going along, which I wouldn't want them to bear the risk if so happen we get caught trespassing. The pengetua didn't made it on time to office today. So, we have no choice but to postpone the trip to next week and one of us couldn't made it for next week. Left the last 2 of us.

They take no action if you got caught. But once you are (touchwood) dead in your fall, they have all reason to say that you trespassed and never obliged to the R&R.

Enjoy the hike next week. Luckily for you as yesterday were pretty hazy out there as I did an attempt to locate one old trail.

Today we been to Gasing, the weather is pretty okay too. Not as hazy as before.
Bump into a lady that show us around Gasing. She been hiking Gasing with her dog for 7.5 years and today, the first time her dog was lost on the way. Luckily we manage to recover her. It is a nice and unique hiking experience. nod.gif
