Ya, we are not seeing any improvement using LED to replace CCFL for the LCD monitor backlighting

LED backlighting consumes less power than CCFL backlighting, IMHO.

Hi all sifu, my rig is as below. if i am to add one more monitor size 22" to the setup, is it okay with the GC that i have? Caused i heard so many people mentioned if monitor size greater than 22" must have GC at least 1GB, but my is only 512MB. thanks

boon.fong,

based on ur rig , u are using 4870 rite ??

I'm using 27 LCD + 22 LCD which is just one ATI 4670 and no problem at all. So 22" just small peanut only..

Before you get all excited, people said what they say in terms of gaming, you'll need 1GB of RAM, as for normal task, almost any GPU made within...say the past 5 - 6 years can easily run 1920x1080.

If you are concerned with FPS dropping after switching to 1920x1080, go read the reviews on your GPU and see how it performs when it comes to that resolution.

I used to game at 1920x1200 with a 256 MB ATI X1950 Pro. For the games I played, it gave reasonable performance.

And then I upgraded to 512 MB ATI HD 4670, and it handled Red Alert 3 at 1920x1200 fine but without or with low AA.

No I don't. And I can't seem to find any. tongue.gif
In fact, there seems to be studies that suggest otherwise.

One thing thou, most seem to claim LED offers better backlight, better whites than CCFL, you can find the picture comparison on that. And with better whites, comes better colour I suppose. And thinner panels as well.

2033sw is 16:9 2043sw is 16:10
They should be using the same panel, just different size. I mean, if I am the manufacturer, I'll do this to save cost.

Hope that helps.

Many thanks for the information. I did more research and it is confirmed that 2033sw is 16:9 while 2043sw is 16:10. Although 2043sw seems to be an older model and uses the older boxy design (like most older LCD panels) unlike the newer 2033sw that has nice curves.

I guess it would be a wiser choice to go for 2033sw due to its design and 16:9 aspect ratio.

I grabbed the Dell G2410 deal at RM799 + RM67 = RM866 for 5 years warranty. Not sure if its a good deal since there are no concrete findings from the small amount of reviews on the net but I seldom see Dell throwing prices for a new model (it's a 2009 model) to that extent.
