hey d.sync, so wht monitor you getting ?
wanna get acer h233h as well since many ppl getting it.
all said it's good.
s2409w suffer sound lag or not ill get it already
*
The seller for S2409W still haven't reply me yet. And yes I would drop it off my consideration if the sound lag issue still persist. Some even claims that Dell is trying to clear the stock so that they can come out with a new model line LOL. H233H, on the other hand, just released on January (I think) so its future stand is still unpredictable. So far I only heard minor backlight bleeding issue, nothing more.

Previously I had also consider ViewSonic VX2433WM, but drop it off since it has input selecting issue. It just can't remember the last input selected (well, sometimes it does, but on random occasion), although the manufacturer claim it can. It does have various input, including component which other LCD I mentioned didn't have. The main point here is, you'll need to have VGA input (eg laptop) to access the main menu, then only you can select which source you want to input. But I highly doubt I'll be using it since my main usage would be DVI-D and HDMI (Acer 5920G Laptop). Wonder what's it like seeing two Acer 'brother' working together LOL!

The drawback for H223H is the viewable screen, which is 50cm compared to other 24" or maybe 23.6" model which has a viewable size of 52cm+ horizontally. Aside from that its a good choice.

It'll only be days ahead until I make up my final point, since I'm still on my exam. Well, will update my choice once I get over with it. Until then, it would be either S2409W or H233H.

The main reason I don't like glossy is that it acts like a mirror. Feel weird seeing my image while viewing movie. While other like it, especially while watching movie, I don't. BTW the 5920G's I'm using now has glossy screen, which I don't like. Anyway it isn't that reflective.

What's your friend thinking of the S2409W he got. Any - comment?

Okay.. sharing my experience now. The monitor itself..

-the design is nice..
-the touch sensitive menu keys.. not very sensitive.
-HDMI works fine
-viewing angle is fine for a TN panel..
-display quite bright, so I had to set it lower..

erm, not sure what else to say here.. since i'm not a LCD freak.. but overall satisfied with the monitor. thumbup.gif
Rm655 (though you can get it at a better deal elsewhere), TN panel, 23" .. well worth it. but if ask me to compare with other LCD.. then I dunno la..

and i guess it's better to just view some of the pics i've taken. lol, sorry some images are blur (not enough light)..

Thanks for sharing. From the angle you shot I can see that it has a nice viewing angle. I also notice your plant is struggling to survive inside the room there. tongue.gif

forgot to add.. in that pic, the setting was set to Text preset. which is not as bright as Standard, Graphics or Film.. and Colour temp - warm.

The grey colour, somehow kinda looks weird to me. looks like those old windows 98 GUI.. gives me that feeling.. haha..

hmm, actually i'm still trying to set it to the right colour temperature/brightness/contrast.. not much settings are there to set.. the presets are not really satisfying (for me).. so I'm kinda not very satisfied at this part. lol...

i've seen/used HP w2408h, and iMac (both are not mine, that's why i had to get this acer.. lol).. iMac - colours just right, perfect for my taste ... but that's IPS panel.. after trying iMac.. w2408h.. not very nice.. presets are not very nice too..

so what i'm trying to say is, maybe my standard too high already.. or i'm expecting too much from a TN panel.. and using it kinda feels similar to using w2408h (of course w2408h is much better, no doubt) but since both are TN panels, and for such prices.. good enough i can say. haha

still a satisfied user here.

Seriously, is it that bright in the preset mode? Guess 40,000:1 DCR play a part here.

From a review I saw on YouTube, the backlight is bleeding from the lower part of the screen. You might need to check with it. How about sound output when you connect it via HDMI? Is the audio jack port works well?

it's really bright..

custom setting, i set it to 30/100 (and earlier i tried 0 brightness.. seems just fine) and i feel like this is the max brightness that i would go for.. all the presets are brighter than this custom brightness setting.

at this night time + fluorescent light condition they are quite bright for me la.. perhaps daytime would make a difference..

i retested mine again.. lower part of the screen do appear like got very minor bleed.. but when i try to view it on different angles.. seems like it's not really backlight bleed. so i can't really differentiate whether it's reflection (since it's glossy) or backlight bleed. if it's backlight bleed, then i got to say, it's really, really minor for my case. haha.. like i said, i totally forgotten about such issue.

the audio output.. tested with HDMI.. surprisingly it's louder/better than i've expected (the loudness maybe due to my empty room and alone now anyway).. but the audio port.. weird. not working .. sweat.gif

What if you want to output the sound to your sound system?
