This is getting very irritating. You all said it right esp when we have to work using the net. TM didn't even bother telling us anything.

Thinking that we will forget what happen if they don't tell anything.

bellow r the email dat i initially sent to tmnet.

QUOTE
Dear Sir / Madam,

As a Streamyx subscriber for years now, I would have to say the experience is rather bad especially pass these few days. There has been a lot of downtime occuring throughout the year and non of those downtime were prior inform. Thing gone bad to worst since early February this year. Downtime hapens frequently which usually lasted for few hours @ once.

But lately, from 20/FEB/09, about 12pm till now, the internet has been extremely slow. I'm having dificulties loading certain internation and local site.
Few hours downtime is acceptable but few days of painfully slow internet is totally ridiculous. Not just me, but every single Streamyx subscriber is having dificult time right now.
The bandwidth monitor graph on my computer shows the bandwidth is highly unstable, jumping up & down. Downoading from some filesharing site like Rapidshare & Megaupload is ridiculous slow @ just 5KBps. This speed is even slower compared to dail-up.

Couple of links from the most famous IT forum in Mlaysia bellow will can tell you how Streamyx users around Malaysia think about Streamyx service.

Following is another issue that I want to bring up.
I initially signed for 1MB/1024Kb package (RM88/month without modem). Following are the information on my streamyx account.

Registered name: xxx (confidential)
Home fix line number: xxx (confidential)
Streamyx account: xxx (confidential)

I have been using Streanyx 1MB line for years now and throught all these time, I've never enjoy full bandwith, in contrast, the speed has actually reduce over time.
Now, i usually get ~850kbps, thats >150kbps shy from 1MB. You might argue that I'm getting >80% of the badwidth but bare in mind that i did not pay 80% of the monthly bill, rather 100%.
Before this, when I just subcribe the 1Mb line, I can get around >900kbps of bandwidth, in a year time, it reduces to ~850kbps. Performance degration is unacceptable.
I felt likeStreamyx has cheated me by not fulfiling the promise of BROADBAND that Streamyx initially promised.

In my oppinion, there should be a rebate for all Streamyx user because of this nationwide downtime which lasted for not hours, but days.

Following are my requests to improve Streamyx broadband experience:

1) More bandwidth - I know that bandwidth allocation is highly dependent on location & port. Certain location, like some of my friends, they can get >1MB out of their 1MB line. I will be thankful enough if i actualy get just 1MB that i paid for.

2) Reduce payment - I'll have to say that currently, I DID NOT get what i paid for which is 1024kbps of bandwidth. I know that payment reduction can be done loing at those promation package which can offer RM77/month for a 1MB line.

I will be expecting possitive reply as soon as possible. I can be contacted via this e-mail, or my handphone number, xxx-xxxxxxx.

Signed by,
A very unhappy Streamyx user.
