I have tried both Logitech Rumblepad 2 and Xbox 360 controller in DIRT2.

Oddly, the force feedback effects of Logitech Rumblepad 2 is significantly stronger than Xbox 360 controller.

Kinda prefer Logitech Rumblepad 2 for the comfort and vibration effects.

Whilst I really enjoy having to play DIRT2 like a console game using XBox 360 controller and not required to configure the settings at all. (Don't need keyboard at all)

I'll go give it a try later tonight.

Mine is Steam version, therefore always updated.

How you can prefer a controller without analogue shoulder buttons for acceleration and braking in a racing game is beyond me.

In any case, multiplayer is such a *itch - i keep getting bullied in rallycross, raid and landrush events. It seems a small tap often sends me flying into a ditch/wall.

Anyway, add me to the dirt2 users list if you feel like bullying me around the track sad.gif . my GFWL ID is in the sig below. Or if you're too lazy to click it's

xbox 360 controller lah.. although i've been using controllers with analogue acceleration/braking for racing games since the days of the sega saturn -> dreamcast >xbox >xbox 360

btw: anyone have a good racing setup for the dallenbach on kane creek? managed to improve my time to 2.52ish but i think i have to work on those 2 hairpins and the setup to see the biggest time trial improvements.

Used to play racing games using keyboard.

After I started to use gamepad more extensively for racing games, it was a heck more fun.

Just like switching from keyboard to arcade stick for fighting games (ie. Street Fighter 4).

Takes awhile to get used to but ultimately rewarding experience.

It should be driving wheel that is closer to fighting games + arcade stick.

I had a driving wheel (Logitech MOMO), had to move into position a lot when and didn't had enough desk space.

So I gave it away before I came back Malaysia.

Also, I don't really play many racing games. So far only DIRT2 and GRID (haven't bother to touch it much).

May get another driving wheel when I have enough desk space in the future.

steering wheel more fun compare to gamepad... but just like u said... steering wheel is too big and consume too much space
i just cant bear with the space consumed and got fedup with it... (so i dump it beside my desk for more than 3 months and sold it off finally)

Added on March 10, 2010, 4:06 pmmight get a rumblepad 2 next time too... depends on situation XD

I really hope someone can hack the Xbox 360 controller drivers for Rumblepad 2 (not just to function in DIRT2 but also other GFWL games).

Don't really want to sell then away.

Can play on Dirt2 need to configure as opposed to having a profile (apparently now it has)

Other GFWL having issues with Rumblepad 2 is like Batman (can't use it coz can't config, default is just weird), Street Fighter 4 (need to config), Trine (Non GFWL need to download hack to use) and etc.
