When you orbit a planet that has a mission, EDI will tell you that an Anomaly was detected (Its also shown in your scanner report on the right).

When scanning, just follow the white line on your scanner and it will point you to the anomaly (Which is a mission).

Basically, you know some of the Loyalty/Recruitment missions that require you to scan the planet first before starting? (Like Zaeed, Jack's and Jacob's) Its pretty much the same thing.

Just to add something here, there are some upgrades only available on these N7 missions.. On normal difficuilty, it is still ok to miss those upgrades.. For on insanity, every upgrade counts..

Ya. it is still a problem that has yet to be solved.. Maybe won't be solved since they might have to make major changes to the physics engine..
