QUOTE(-Torrz @ Jan 31 2010, 08:06 PM) I wonder which skills should I carry over to Shepard from my squadmates. Samara's reave is pretty good imo against armor. I haven't got Fortification yet. I took Inferno Grenade from Zaeed and maybe Armor Piercing ammo from Archangel. This Shepard is the screw biotics type. Honestly, it's more do-able without biotics in ME2 than ME1.Whats the difference between fortification and barrier? |

I'm almost at IFF. I want to do all the quests first as it's like the point of no return right? I still haven't recruited Thane and Samara and I haven't done some loyalty quests and those little N7 missions.
I also hate Scions and the Praetorians. I need Armor-Piercing ammo. |

Hahaha! That picture of fem Shepard and Garrus is priceless. Too bad my character is sticking with Ash. Yeah, I hate all the LIs in this game, except maybe Tali
Added on February 1, 2010, 2:54 pm QUOTE(TimKen @ Feb 1 2010, 09:28 AM) I believe Shepard is 4 years older than Ash, 2-3 years younger than Kaidan and 1 year older than Joker. This post has been edited by secondrate: Feb 1 2010, 02:55 PM |

QUOTE(JuzJoe @ Feb 1 2010, 04:52 PM) haha let me guess you charge in when there are like more than 2 hostiles around? That is what I did at 1st, learn my lesson and start to stay behind cover more, try to use the shockwave more; it goes through covers and knocks down targets. That part really sad part about the defense system in ME2 is that you have to bring down their shield, barrier and armor 1st b4 your powers becomes effective. I think it's kinda defeat the purpose of lots of control powers like the pull, by the time your pull becomes effective, you might as well kill them with your conventional weapons. btw, shot guns are really powerful in this game, only thing is that they are only useful are reallly close range. I agree but it's sure fun to send a group of enemies flying with shockwave (courtesy of Jack) then on adrenaline rush and shoot all of them. Adrenaline rush is when that silly Vindicator assault rifle shines. Grunt with his Claymore heavy shotgun is a beast. He sure likes to move in up close and blast them. Archangel is also good with his sniper rifle. Overall, much better squad AI than ME1. That Colossus in Haestrom = no sweat by flanking and letting Archangel blast it to hell. |

How to get squad mates to talk more? I managed to get Jacob to talk twice (the 'I just want to talk' option) but then he shuts up like a clam and says he's not keen on these big talks. That's it? I already did his loyalty quest. ME1 had more character stuff. Tali is also shutting up when I have a feeling she has more to say.
Added on February 1, 2010, 10:34 pm QUOTE(N1ck @ Feb 1 2010, 09:48 PM) I havent played mass effect 1. Seriously? Play ME1 then import your saved games to ME2. It helps to understand what is going on better and you get more quests. I'm still cracking up over all the ME1 characters I meet. Gianna Parasini is pure gold on Illium and so is Shiala ('wait a minute... why are you green?' part was hilarious). I kicked Conrad in the balls for being so damn annoying too Should I play mass effect 1 first before playing mass effect 2 or just get mass effect 2. How to get more dialogue out of squad mates (henchmen sounds so stupid)? After a while they give me the talk later, busy right now dialogue if I select 'lets talk' or something. It makes me wonder how to initiate the romance subplots (not that I want to, I still think there's more of Ash in ME3). I've done their loyalty quests.
QUOTE(Aggroboy @ Feb 2 2010, 10:11 AM) Nah, the comic is about her efforts to find Shepard's corpse and how she ended up with the Shadow Broker.Added on February 2, 2010, 4:40 pm QUOTE(LordSparda @ Feb 2 2010, 02:53 PM) Just finished the game myself. Woohoo... loved it. Now the long wait for ME3 begins... Spoilers about Archangel's identity there After trying most of the classes for a few hours, I really love the Sentinel. So powerful... Max out Tech Armor, Warp and Overload, get Assault Rifle as a bonus weapon + Armor Piercing (learn from Garrus), and laugh your way through Veteran. You can clear out entire rooms by yourself... literally. In one part of the final level two of my useless members got stuck somewhere and I had to finish a whole room of collectors by myself. Only after I killed everything that I realized my two members stuck behind pillar Took 3 times to finish the last level since my members keep dying... finally made it through using the following: - » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Of course, you need all your characters to be loyal, or they'll just randomly die anyway. For those who have Mordin dying randomly in the last part (even at fully loyal, he sucks at surviving) either send him as escort (50/50 chance of him dying) or put him in your final boss party (100% survive if he's loyal). QUOTE(-Torrz @ Feb 2 2010, 04:51 PM) Who? If it's Miranda, she'll say she'll come by when things get quiet. Then before you hit the Omega 4 relay, she'll sex you up. Just in general because they don't want to talk to me anymore. I remember after every mission in ME1, they have different dialogue. ME2 the dialogue like stops after 2-3 missions. Will try Infil in second game through, hopefully it'll be fun. Anyone else got a kiss from Parasini? |

QUOTE(-Torrz @ Feb 2 2010, 05:00 PM) Did you play ME1? If not she won't appear and I think she doesn't appear if you don't do the below.Basically she's a undercover anti-corruption agent on Noveria in the first game. You can help her and get a turian to give testimony against the administrator of Noveria. In exchange, she gives you her garage pass so you can travel to Peak 15 and track down Liara's mother, Matriarch Benezia who has ties to Saren. At the end of it, she tells you she owes you a beer and drags Anoleis off. In ME2 she's on Illium. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Added on February 2, 2010, 5:04 pm QUOTE(-Torrz @ Feb 2 2010, 05:00 PM) Darn this Jacob. And Jack. And Tali. I've done Jacob's quest then went to fetch Tali, the Migrant Fleet quest and the Normandy quest but he's still stonewalling me. That's why I'm kinda confused. Maybe you're right and he's not talkative
His loyalty quest popped up after Horizon though. |

QUOTE(LordSparda @ Feb 2 2010, 06:12 PM) Ah yes, Horizon's the name. Pity about Archangel since he's awesome. His quest was a ton of fun. Mordin and me don't get along because of the genophage issue Yeah, Jacob doesn't talk much. I think after completing his loyalty quest he only talked once more, then it's done and you're his best friend (if you try talking to him he just gives you a fist bump and talks about drinking). I'm thinking he talk more if you're female, heh heh Same with our friend Archangel, he doesn't say much either. Characters like Legion and Mordin REALLY talk a lot though. Finish the game and they STILL have new stuff to say. |

I keep jumping at voice actors rather than virtual actors
So far I've identified : Simon Templeman (Loghain, Dragon Age) - Admiral Gerrel (or something) Claudia Black (Morrigan, Dragon Age) - Admiral Xen Adam Baldwin (Casey, Chuck) - Kal'Reegar And a bit of similar voices from the first game. Same voice different face . |

IFF is like endgame. Do more and things get nasty. That said I'm preparing a ton before going on that mission. I don't want my first playthrough to end badly.
Miranda resembles Yvonne, I won't say they look a lot alike. Added on February 3, 2010, 6:15 pm QUOTE(Aggroboy @ Feb 3 2010, 06:14 PM) You want to? I guess don't buy any upgrades and shoot for the IFF and Omega 4 relay straight after you get them. This post has been edited by secondrate: Feb 3 2010, 06:15 PM |
