It's not a good idea to lock the topic that are informative which consist of 60+ pages just because of some agents promoting their products.

You can't prevent them from promoting but you may report them to mod/admin by using the Report button (if they violating the rules).

However, without the agents that can provide quotation about their products, consumer like us won't be able to get know what kind of insurance available in market.

It's just like "Personal Loan" topic, there are people requesting for help and agents promoting their products yet mod did not lock it. So I guess it goes same to this topic as well.

As topic, i want to change my medical insurance. Was paying to a company call Manulife, it sucks, the company sold, and then that friggin company send me letter saying need to increase my pay ie 2x more, i tot its suppose to follow to a price list when i sign that bloody contract, but they do not seems to understand what a contract mean, so i consider thats a scam.

Now i am looking for a better and a more reliable company, anybody can suggest me 1.

Personally doesnt suggest you to change medical plan. Ask an agent to review for you before you do so..

In case you don't know, stand alone medical is that way. The price increase according to your age. The older you are, the more you pay. I guess you are the one not reading the policy? There should be the table payment included but it's not guarantee that price, it might be different.

yes i know the price will increase, but according to a price list which they shown me at the time i make a contract with them, they arent following that list, the 1st payment was 500+, then the next 1 i did last year was also 500+ but increased a bit, but for this year it shoot up to 800+, read this note below, they said about increment of bla bla bla, which didnt stated during the contract. if they can do it once, they sure can do it again, so im out.

You are losing your rational, if things really happen, I guess you will think differently.

How old are you when the time they increase? I think you reach another group range of age. If you premium is paid annually, it does make sense.

30-34
35-39
40-44
45-49
50-54
...

Your policy don't have the price table?

You may get medical card from other insurance company but don't cancel your current first. Keep it until the waiting period (if any) of new medical card is over then only cancel it.

read the letter, it doesnt say about my age, it says about medical inflation... i believe its not related 2, it must be because the company was sold, and the new management no longer want to maintain old customers.

agreed. wait for the waiting period for the new medical card b4 cancellation.

Actually, you may see that the premium is not guaranteed.

As for my knowledge, i NEVER see a company that has GUARANTEED premium for medical card.

This is due to high inflation of medical card and the medical cost is hardly calculated.

hai, as far as i'm concern the premium of medical insurance is not guaranteed and you can find it on the policy itself. Two possible factors 1. claim experience and medical inflation.

If you already make a premium payment of RM800+, and still want to change your current medical card. I suggest you do a survey in the market and if you can find any which are cheaper than your existing one, apply one and do not surrender your existing medical 1st. wait for waiting period of your newly applied medical insurance expired 1st.

Thanks

Hi guys & gals,

I've been using this GE life policy for about 9 yrs or so. and paid roughly ard 100bucks per mth. It covers a basic sum of 35k and additional for Reducing Term Rider Plus with Total & Permanent Disability Benefits (RTRP-TPD) of 70k, but it has many clauses like aft age 40yrs old u'll get like 75% of the insured value and so on.
I would like to know is it better to stop the policy and get a better policy that comes together with the medical card which has a better limit and the premium doesn't goes up like the std alone medical card i'm using now cause the coverage sucks with and annual limit of 25K & life time limit of 75K, which i think is not sufficient. I paid rm250/yr when is signed up 9yrs ago and it escalate up to about 4++/yr now w the same coverage. Wat is ur advice about tis. Should i terminate and buy a better one or i pay for tis and get additional life insurance tat comes with a medical card.

u should upgrade your medical insurance, but do not terminate your existing medical card unless the newly-applied medical insurance's waiting period is finish.

Have a serious consideration about it bro. If really want to give up, please wait until 120 days waiting period to over. Safer. But, it will still be subjected to investigation if any claims occurs..
