i'm a celcom broadband user. connection overall just average whether basic or advance. good for small laptops or netbook coz doesnt need much time time to load page on small screen. but theres 1 time celcom got problem for 2 days so i switch to digi broadband edge ( lastyear ). i took the Rm66 permonth. what u hear about digi being stable is so wrong in fact its horrible! slow, disconnect all the time. i would say much worst than dial up. only use for two days ( i lost rm66! ) i switch back to celcom Rm68 permonth. of course lastyear digi doesnt have 3g only edge but its horrible. u know what, theres a few times when celcom 3g got disconnect on off n i got fedup refreshing the page to check email, i switch the settings to edge ( 284kbps ) n this is what i call stable. celcom in edge mode is very stable only very few times disconnect but 284kbps its only good for light browsing page like email, friendster n facebook not recommendable for myspace or heavy pages.
but hey, maybe this new digi 3g is better but i advice stay away from contracts unless u got free trial test or read good reviews. last year theres also digi edge packages with free modem+unlimited edge+eeepc for Rm123permonth package for 2 years. i almost took the offer but felt relieve i did not after the edge connection horrible. i'm sure that time theres a lot pissed off customers want their money back after realize the digi edge sucks bigtime!

Yes, there has been times where my direct download connection is throttled to around 512kbps. But sometimes it would jump back to 1Mbps. Anyway recently I noticed that my modem keep cycling states. I can see from the LED status that it is disconnected when idling and when one of my services accesses the internet, it would connect back in a flash. No disconnection on any sensitive applications though.
Yup, I'm sitting right in the middle of the house and it still works fine. No need to find a nice spot. Things has been such a breeze with Digi Broadband.

I just signed up Digi BB Extreme, but I'm only getting EDGE speed. Worst yet, I can't seem to do anything while I'm connected to Digi's BB. I can't even surf the net.

I wonder if my port forwarding settings has anything to do with it.

Anyways, hopefully this improves, or I'm going to return it following their 7 day policy.

This is not the easy, dumb proof installation Digi promotes it to be. Digi call centre wasn't very helpful saying I need to bring my PC to their centre for configuration. Lols. Idiots.

Question(S): If I sign up for any of the packages:

1) if I move to an area with no 3G, will it fall back to EDGE?
2) if I fall back to EDGE, will EDGE usage be counted towards the FUP quota?
3) I'm a bit confused with the costing for with modem packages. If I sign up for discover package with modem, do I pay RM58 a month, or RM 58 + RM 15 = RM 73 a month (Currently)?

based on that, i plan to sign up for the Discover RM58 pckage. is this package sufficeint for me?

Regarding the bill, I've my own modem...and plan to use auto debit payment using credit card.
so, i just need to pay RM58-RM5 (own modem)-RM5=RM48...correct?

another questions would be.. i'm travelling a lot and most of the time the 3G signal is not available...
if this is the case, does that mean that i will be automatically switched to EDGE (max 384 Kb/sec) connection or even GPRS?

downloading should be less than 1 Gig... so i'm not worried about over quota of 3GB.

does DIGI support up to 384kbps UMTS (assuming 3G is not available)? or just EDGE at 230kbps?

Does 3gb = pure download when i download stuff or even if i stream youtube, it counts too?

yes! yes! there are gioving the promo on selected location only. normally its rm108 to get the modemn but rm78 can get oledi so it worth la.... just need to confirm yr location is in coverage or not. really worth really worth!

if not mistaken, the contract is bound for 1 yr. if u terminate before the 1 yr end, u jz hv to pay for the modem for the remainding months.
ie: left 3 months yr termination fees is rm30x 3@ rm90 & THE MODEM IS YOURS!!!

after the 1 yr term, the monthly fees is back to RM108. still cheap compared to other 2 operator. I tried the speed and its superb!!!

DiGi has launches it student capus plan. applicable for student who has student matrix card. The rate, unconfirm. Saw it yesterday at Subang!!!

Last weekend i signed up for Explore package. DiGi was having a promotion where the promotion price is RM78 with free modem at The Curve. They also told me that there will be a 1 year contract attached to the account and the price will remain at RM78 until i terminate the account. I also signed up for online billing and auto debit where i receive another RM5 off from the RM78, respectively. The only thing is, I'm staying outside of their broadband coverage 

m... but edge is unlimited download.... for u package max download have limited right... can say not so work it... cos edge only rm55 permonth

I'm actually paying RM68, after the RM10 off for online biling and auto debit (RM5 off each). Currently I'm on RM33 Edge (50% off promotion awhile back at Low yat plaza). I have my reasons for subscribing DiGi BB. Been using only for a few days and i'm already at 2GB...hahahahaha....

Just pay RM100 as advance payment and you are good to go.

Its broadband not  EDGE. 3.5 speed already.
