Hi, about the Rm78 explore promotion, somebody told me that the usage is unlimited. That means no 10G quote apply and you will receive 700Kb speed all the time. But after 1 year, the 10G quote will be effective again. Is that true?

unlimited here means unlimited browsing... not unlimited bandwidth. after 10G, you can still browse with slower speed... (this is so called unlimited browsing)

By right you will be capped at EDGE connections once you hit the 10G limits, which translate to < 384kbps speed. on download.

In reality, DiGi havent really 'activate' the cap system. I have an explore account, and not its running at 120kB constantly days and nights, I've already used 16Gb combined up and down bandwidth at this writing moment.

I had another friend who used Extreme package since day 1 DiGi came Penang, he is still leeching more than 200G bandwidth monthly. Extreme package by right, has 20G bandwidth at full speed. The highest record he got so far is, 250G a month.

Not sure bout KL, but Penang users is still lucky enough to enjoy 'unlimited' full speed broadband.

EDGE packet data service with a maximum downlink transmission rate of 236.8kbps, not 384kbps.

As long as i can still have edge speed after cap i am happy.
But from DIGI FAQ

Q17. What is the usage limit for these broadband packages?

*
A17. - The Discover package comes with a data quota/usage limit of 3GB. Usage beyond 3GB will be charged at 15sen/10MB and will be capped at a maximum of RM138/month.
- The Explore package comes with a data quota/usage limit of 10GB. Usage beyond 10GB will be charged at 5sen/10MB and will be capped at a maximum of RM138/month.
- The Extreme package comes with a data quota/usage limit of 20GB. Usage beyond 20GB will be free although the speed will be throttled to 128kbps.

with 128Kb speed, i think we can't do anything not even google...

My customer hv signed DG Extreme package and he also exceed the usage limit and so far he still nvr face the cut down speed problem, maybe it is becoz Extreme package use different network system from explore and discover, extreme package is HSUPA network while exp/dis is using HSDPA

Digi is using HSPA protocol as its network backbone. All discover, explore and extreme package should use the same backbone. HSPA comprises of HSDPA (down link) and HSUPA (uplink), so the issue of extreme package uses HSUPA while explore & discover package use HSDPA should not exist...

My personal opinion is Digi will never cap you at 128kbps... that's the minimum you can get after being throttled. Look at what we got for discover & explore packages, despite of LAS says 700kbps, we can get 1Mbps easily.

That's why you need to double confirm when you hear this kind of statement from a salesman. The same tactic has been used by other ISP as well... Do remember that for normal packages that available in the market, there is no unlimited bandwidth package in the market yet... unless you explicitly subscribe to those really unlimited package (which cost a lot more than normal package). Per my understanding, the only unlimited bandwidth package from Digi is EDGE @ RM66 per month.

So far, from what i know, Streamyx is the only one that provide unlimited bandwidth (note: for normal packages)... i'm not sure about other ISP, e.g Jaring, etc (but, this is out of topic here).

4th day of my bil month, my bandwitdh is now at 25Gb combined.
Still going strong, Digi stated that last night they were suppose to do maintenance, and it will be slow. then I am still getinng 700 - 800 kbps. At around 2.30am, its back to 1.2-1.3mbps till now.
