I agree with what you say, but for what that was said and done.. alot of it is in "hindsight" and alot of "ifs"
"What if you don't spend that money only Captor, and your car gets stolen".. or "What if you spent that money on Captor on ur car and it doesn't get stolen" or "what if you pay for a year, and damn suay the next day after subscription over kena stolen"
I guess at the end of the day.. it boils down to how much you are willing to spend on your car for that extra piece of mind.
I wouldn't mind having all the gadgets in the world, but since I prolly can't afford it.. well, you've gotta go for the next best.
Or lower your risk by parking in covered, brightly lit & secured car park, and try not to work so late..hehe! smile.gif (i think this is the best preventive measure)

edit: Just checked out Captor's website. RM2,100 (System) + RM200 (Installation) = RM2,300 (1st year free subscription) + RM150 (annual fee).
Doesn't look too shabby as what zweimmk pointed out. But too bad I don't have that amount of cash allocated for that.. still wanna mod my car..hehe! Maybe I'll get some lugnuts then chain my car to a tree.. jk smile.gif

P/s: Just to note that the "Recovery rates of vehicles protected with this system show 40% faster recovery and a 95% success rate" is for the Captor RF/GPS which cost as astounding RM4,000 (system) + RM300 (installation) + RM48 or RM98 (monthly charges). Your choice  icon_rolleyes.gif

Captor RF still does a very good job of recovery and I think is more than adequate for the Honda City. The price is quite reasonable and is affordable if you forgo the modding of your car like wheel rims, bodykit etc. etc. tongue.gif

However, strictly considering the kind of car the Honda City is, then maybe even Captor RF might also be overkill. I doubt the new Honda City will fetch a good price as compared to an Accord or Camry or even a premium continental car. hmm.gif

Thanks for your reply FooCY.
Q1. I got it, The light turns on and off very fast and hardly noticed it. I thought mine doesn't work but it does. Thanks again.

Q2. On page 74 of our manual, it says: The instrument panel will illuminate with reduced brightness when you unlock and open the driver's door. The brightness will increase slightly when you insert the key in the ignition switch, then go to normal brightness when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position.

Mine doesn't illuminate when I open the door and will illuminate only when I turn it ON (II), does it mean we don't have that feature or there's something wrong with my car.
*
Glad you found the light! thumbup.gif

I've gone thru the manual and tested it out. I can verify that the instrument panel does not illuminate as mentioned in the manual. I think this is a feature that is available on models in other countries (ie. China/Thailand/India/Australia). I believe it's factory disabled. Not a big deal but good to know that it's not in our ride. Rarely people RTFM like we do! icon_rolleyes.gif

I think you can deal with the hot sun and heavy rain (got lots of product to handle that) but dust and powder...well, hope it's not abrasive or it'll scratch the paint for sure and not acidic as it'll eat into the paint. Industrial fallout are potential dangers to your car, so, might need to rethink your parking arrangements at work.

make sure you stand outside the post office at 8.30am on the 30th and find out! It takes a week for the database to synchronize between JPJ and Pos Malaysia.

Yes you can. This one I think you need to arrange with your SA (assuming he's doing it for you). Just tell him to register the road tax at the post office with you, so you can claim the rebate on the spot. You need to fill in the form and your IC for this.

Since you've asked the Q, I must tell you the story about one of my customer experienced recently.
Small post offices have STOPPED giving out rebates. In order to collect your rebates, you'll need to go to bigger post offices. This sparks fear among a lot of car owners, who still haven't collect their rebates yet.
