why no xenon flash..

gosh nokia, i am soooo disappointed.. n86 is a big disappointment.. i was expecting so much more for the n8x series and this one came up.. led flash only? come on.. pls make xenon standard ok.. and the design is ugly.. it looks so disgusting with its matte look and quirky buttons.. this is by far the ugliest phone and most disappointing phone ever existed. i was wishing something that would top the already-perfect n82 but instead this came up..

sorry guya i'm just really frustrated over this n86 right now.. i tot they'll put a xenon and somethign similar or more beautiful design than the n85.. i'm just really really disappointed.. this is nothing but just a boost of megapixels and downgrade of design..i was expecting sooo much more.. to have nokia slap this bloody- ugly- non-xenon camera phone thrown at us.. what an insult to smartphones

Wow you seems hot about it... Dude even N97 also just LED flash not Xenon, maybe the cost for making a Xenon flash phone is expensive so Nokia decided to pull it out... The design not bad, rather than the old ones squarish design...

this is the first nokia phone with 8 megapixel .. hopefully it will be better than the other phones

Im always support Nokia phones, even yourself are using N73ME I believe you satisfied with its camera performance until today...

Nokia's move to use LED and improving the technology is the right one. One day LEDs will be able to compete with the Xenon in terms of speed and brightness. LED already has 3 advantages to it that Xenon cannot compete, battery life, torchlight capability and cost.

Just because Xenon is better doesn't mean every manufacturer has to go for it, then what happens to LED? Trust me, LEDs are just waiting to pwn the Xenon. It probaably won't be brighter than the Xenon, at least it could probably come close, without the energy sucking and cost inflating properties of Xenon.

Price of N85 is already over 2K. This will be 2K+++ or 3K? Sometimes an 8MP camera may not do justice to the pic. Hope the picture quality of this N86 matches up to the N95 or is even better. I need a good camera phone. Seen the Samsung 8MP phones pics. They are not very impressive.

Design wise..it's a bit different, just a bit diff from n81, n85 and n96. i guess that's okay for me.

but for the flash nokia says that it's a 3rd generation led meaning it is more powerful and has a higher range.

you said u wanted xenon flash right?

KEEP this in mind:

1. xenon flash will most probably make the n86 more expensive than it already is
2. xenon flash will drain much much more battery power and from what u can see now the n82 is the perfect example because it has the lowest battery life compared to all the 5mp N-series phones...even with a smaller and dimmer (less brighter) screen size.

3. from what i can see, i u really need numerous good pics with battery life to spare for calling people on the phone and other things, a LED flash phone would be a much sensible choice because of the much better battery life.

4. if you wanted xenon so much with 8mp then i suggest buying a digital camera or even a DSLR at n86's price range.

alpha's right, it is afterall a smart phone. It'll be a pity if you used up all your battery for pictures but don't have enough charge to go to the net to blog it.

Well describe and explained, so guys dont always complaint about the LED Flash... There is a reason so why NOKIA choose this option... More important what is function in it, its processor, design and etc...

Actually I don't care much about Xenon - which if you study the quality of the photos taken by my K850i and using Xenon flash, it's pretty overexposed. What I actually wanted to say is, phone is a phone.

It is true that nowadays, a phone can do multiple jobs, but for sure the main function of a phone is to get connected and not to take photo. For me, if you want to take proper photos, you can simply use your DSLR, or your digicam, easy and obviously no lag.

Know what, the main point that I always looking for if I wanna buy a phone is how long its standby time and call time. It has need to worth your money dude..

Yea sometimes Zenon light are too strong, but if built with Nokia then it will be superb... (Dont compare with K850i)... Now you see why Zenon Flash is so important under some circumstances...

For sure if xenon is being installed for N86, the phone will be a great phone... I know what you mean... My K850i is so like pasar malam made punya when I took photo with Xenon.. LOL!!!

advantages of a phone's xenon flash is usually at medium range... at close range the picture will be overexposed even on the n82. this is a fact.

yes xenon flash does make the picture colour reproduction as real as it should. and usually leds will make it somewhat a diff colour tone..but it is hardly noticable in a normal photo...so this is not that important for a normal user. a photo-eccentric user will but either a digital camera or a dslr or normal slr.

Yes, Zenon Flash is so important under some circumstances...but take in mind that for n86 to be a great SMARTPHONE, it must also have a good battery life.

N82 is not a really great phone: medium to medium low battery life (normal usage with picture taking, etc), smaller screen size, much dimmer/lower brightness screen but N82 is a great CAMERAPHONE, only because of the 5mp camera with xenon flash.

If n86 wants to be a great CAMERAPHONE maybe it should have xenon flash but it will greatly reduce battery life.
maybe nokia wants it to be a great SMARTPHONE and that means having a good battery life. take note that the led on the n86 is a newer type and should be better

That why no point for us to keep on talking about this Xenon and LED... Just wait the real things to arrived and see the result ourself... I believe Nokia not stupid either, they will produce the best Symbian phone all the way...

yeah... complaining here won't do a thing. if u like it buy it if you want xenon go buy a digital camera or dslr or n82 or other samsung phones..

huge difference.. that's why n82 is one of the best-selling and also one of the highest rated nokia smartphones in the market.. you don't know how a simple "xenon-equipped" cameraphone can convince so much buyers inspite of n82's low battery...

right now let's wait to see how the so-called "3rd gen led flash" will fare..

i know how a simple "xenon-equipped" cameraphone can "DECEIVE" so many buyers inspite of n82's low battery. popular doesn't make it better yo.

plus, most users who don't read forums or reviews won't know about the low battery problem.

personally i would prefer a phone that i can depend on whenever i want to call or receive an important call plus all the things that n82 can do.
