As you probably already know, Nokia N86 leaked yesterday, but today it makes the news all official. Named Nokia N86 8MP, it's got the first 28mm wide angle lens on a mobile phone. There's also a kickstand, and the rest of the specs are pretty close to what Nokia N85 already offers.

The new Nokia N86 8MP (yeah, it doesn't get any more obvious than that) is the first 8 megapixel cameraphone to sport a wide 28mm lens. There are also other goodies such as a mechanical shutter as on the Samsung INNOV8, allegedly a new, better Carl Zeiss lens.

Unfortunately, there's only a dual LED flash on board the N85 8MP. However according to Nokia, the LED flash is a third generation one and should effectively work at distances of up to 3.5 m.

The Nokia N86 8MP is the first device with variable aperture ranging from F2.4/3.2/F4.8. That means the device does betted in low light situations thanks to the wider aperture of F2.4 and takes sharper shots in bright daylight thanks to the F4.8 aperture value.

The other goodies on board the Nokia N86 8MP include 8GB of internal memory, a microSDHC card slot, a 2.6-inch OLED screen, FM transmitter, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity, a 3.5mm audio jack and TV out. There's also quad-band GSm and tri-band HSDPA support for a truly worldwide voice and data roaming.

The Nokia N86 8MP will start retailing in Q2 2009 with an estimated price of 375 euro, before taxes and subsidies. There goes the Nokia E75…

No Xenon flash, is a dual LED flash. Kind a disappointing, still waiting for E-series touch screen phone. When will Nokia bring them out . Hurry Nokia, the Samsung and LG new phone model is damn tempting, better stop the crap before Samsung take over you for the throne .

The phone is there but I guess the Nokia team is too "pai seh" to announce it after seeing Samsung, LG and SE line up with their products. Makes ppl laugh if they were to announce this phone as the successor for N85 .

oled ftw! love the screen.

i would buy it if bigger display, xenon flash ..30 fps video recording.. and can do slow motion vide recording too like innov

The form factor of n86 is actually a mixture of n85+n97 in addition of some features appeared b4 but lost in n85
The spec is not as attractive as the se idou and samsung i8910 but it does has some features never seen b4 such as changable aperture, although it is controlled automatically but still a good feature to acquire much quality photos
And it stated tat the led flash as 3rd generation, i wonder how powerful is it compared with those equipped now and how far the performance of it compared to xenon flash
Let just wait for the time to tell the story

look boring, nokia designer must be running out of ideal. Very typical nokia design..sad..look at SE, their design is very good.

We havent try the real thing yet... So not much comment on the design and functionwise... From the look, so so only...

nokia shud come out with high end but durable phone,
like motorola tundra... haha....
