QUOTE(remysix @ Nov 22 2007, 03:25 PM)
i noticed that so many members try to get their proc or heatsink lapped to mirror finish...mirror finish is great...for own satisfaction la after all the long hours and sweat...but for achieving a good result in the temp, the main objective is to get a fine flat surface...and then u'll put the thermal paste...AS5, MX1/2...or whatever that will fill the micro-gap on the proc or heatsink...so, basically, if u cannot get the mirror finish one, it's ok and u dont have to hunt for 2000 grit sandpaper for that.
but yes...it would be really 'yahooooo' when u can see ur face on the IHS, after voiding the warranty biggrin.gif

finally someone else that have the same mentality as me when comes to lapping.. mirror finish is just bling. flat is good enough.

QUOTE(neoxz @ Nov 29 2007, 10:57 AM)
Well, if the ihs is convex and the tr heatsink is convex, wont it give a bad result?

i actually dunno how to explain..lol..its in my head but scared later i type it out sounds dam wierd..lol..

Hi guys.I would like to know how to solve my problems.
Thank you in advance for those willing to help.

Well,lets start.
I lapped my CPU and HSF a while ago. After getting the mirror effect,i then plug the CPU into the motherboard and put the HSF on top.
I found that,6C dropped.Its a good news.

The problem is,right now,i don't have any motherboard to plug my AM2 CPU also the HSF.Its been almost a month now after i lapped both my CPU and HSF.What i found is,the "top part of the CPU begins to rust" sweat.gif It also happened to my HSF now.

What should i do to prevent it from getting rust?
I already washed my HSF and cleaned the CPU from the Tunix-2.

Get Brasso polish for copper. It removes oxidation.

I heard about using tomato ketchup to clear oxidation but ain't so sure whether i remembered correctly or not.
