Since late 2-3 years Carlsberg result is deteoriating while Guiness still hold on its profit quite strongly, it just sum up the market share issue.

Infact Guiness is giving out around 40-46 cents pa (sustainable with EPS), while Carlsberg is struggling to give generous dividend (while some special dividend are given based on accumulated profit/cash not from sustaintable EPS).

Margin is squeezed since 3-4 years ago when gov raised the alcoholic tax.

Alchoholic still there. But market share has been eroded by Guiness Tiger.

It is a bad bad quarterly result, especially during 4th Q whereby CNY approaching should register brisk sales and good profit, instead a poor poor 4th Q result.

It cannnot sustain anymore special dividend without earn enough (EPS).

Another problem is smuggling activities that eroded the alcoholic sales.

ESSO? don't know meh?
Refiner for Exxon Mobil in Malaysia.

Since its 4 cents interim dividend during April 2008, it has a bonus issue 2:1 and right issue of 1:4.

So more shares liao.

But at least they still can maintain their profits for the whole year... may be they'll like to preserve more cash?
oh, my bad..... been a while since i saw an ESSO station tongue.gif

(sustainable with EPS) - does this mean "how well can a company generates profits solely based on the $$ they get from the investors"?

F&N and Coca-Cola end relationship in Jan 2010
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 18 — Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd (F&N) announced today that its bottler’s and distributor’s agreements with Coca-Cola Company which are due to expire on January 26 next year will not be renewed.

In its filing to Bursa Malaysia today, F&N said the impact on profitability for the following year may be material depending on the outcome of the post-termination transition plan, if any.

The company said it will make further announcements as soon as more information becomes available.

Currently, the soft drinks division is the single largest profit contributor to the F&N group, accounting for 48 per cent of the total operating profit.

F&N said sales revenue of the Coca-Cola products amounted to RM421 million or 35 percent of the division’s revenue in the financial year 2007/2008. — Bernama

"THE price of premium grade petrol RON 97 will be floated according to international oil prices from July.

It is understood that oil companies briefed their retailers this week that there will also be changes to grades of fuel sold at pumps.

Several retailers said the “regular” grade RON 92 fuel would be phased out and a new grade, RON 95, would be introduced, in addition to RON 97. "

Something to share here also, but i might not affect the market anyway tongue.gif
