Its ok. That called opportunity cost. Had a chance to make quite a gain but lose nothing actually.

And always remember: "..when you missed the boat, the boat floats".. as in this case. biggrin.gif

Any Genting shareholders here?

I observed that this counter has been going up slowly from last week's 3.180 and reached 3.380 today. Not bad ya. smile.gif

Good hedge against weak market
Besides offering good upside when the right stock is picked and the entry timed
correctly, privatisation candidates could also offer investors a good hedge against
weak market conditions. Potential privatisation stocks that we like, i.e. companies with
decent fundamentals and have seen steep share price falls, for instance Resorts,
Eksons and Wellcall, are trading closer to their floor price of cash per share and
should be more resilient. For investors with a higher appetite for risks, we identify
Proton, which is the only stock trading below its net cash per share because of fears
that new model development costs will deplete its cash hoard. While AirAsia and
Pelikan may not be in net cash positions, we believe their major shareholders could
be tempted to take the companies private due to their depressed valuations. We
maintain our NEUTRAL weighting on Malaysia and our end-09 KLCI target of 1,013
points based on an unchanged 12.5x P/E target.

Resorts World – There has long been speculation of a potential privatisation of
Resorts World (RWB) by its parent Genting Bhd. For Genting, RWB’s key attraction is
its huge cash pile of RM4.5bn as at end-Dec 08. On top of this, RWB’s business
model appears to be the most resilient among Genting’s subsidiaries, generating
RM300m-500m operating cashflows every quarter. RWB’s share price has fallen 28%
since its announcement of a related party transaction (RPT) in Nov 08. Valuation[
8 ]
wise, RWB is trading at an undemanding forward P/E of 7-8x and P/BV of 0.9-1.0x,
which is at the lower end of its 15-year trading band, despite its relatively resilient
business model. Having said that, we believe that the chances of such an exercise
are slim given that the group intends to keep its domestic gaming operating unit listed
for transparency purposes as its gaming licence resides at RWB. Also, we believe the
group sees better use for the cash hoard in M&A opportunities.

Resorts is very capable and probable to be privatised if the share price remains low.

Hmm.. what if they really announce the intention. Will the share price fly into the sky? hmm.gif

It depends on the privatisation price then.

If offer too low, it won't make much difference. It won't succeed.
If offer too high, it is burden for Genting or privatisation party. Resorts price tag for privatisaiton won't come cheap at all, (5.9 billions outstanding shares) which financing part is the most problematic factor.

Resort quite unlikely to be privatized in my opinion. Maybe some research houses want to boost the price.
