What I like about that song is that it has all the best bits of the other songs in it.

As for "Half Remembered Dream", it did a good job introducing the theme, but I believe "Time" is the best version. Brings the the theme to a proper climax. Which is makes sense since i believe this was used for the finale. And what made the ending so, so, so powerful for me.

Yeah TIME is one of the best OST in the movie...
BTW, Mind Heist by Zack Hemsey is my favourite too wink.gif

6) Cobb's totem is unreliable.

One common objection to the view that the real world is also a dream is that Cobb uses the totem in the real world scenes and it falls over. But Cobb's totem is unreliable. First of all, it wasn't his totem in the first place. It was his wife's totem and he'd already explained how important it was that every dreamer should make his own totem or else it wouldn't work. Secondly, he even explained to other people how it would work, defeating its purpose. Remember how Arthur would not allow Ariadne to touch his die because that would defeat its purpose? Arthur even tells Ariadne that Cobbs always tells people not to do something but then he always does it himself. To me, this indicates that Cobb's totem and his methods for staying safe while in dreams is not reliable.

I don't mean to say that the real world shown is definitively a dream. What I believe is that Nolan deliberately injected clues to make every single level in the film ambiguous and give every single level a dream-like quality. The purpose is to make it so that every and all interpretations are equally true. I guess some people might think that's clever, but I think it's pretty cheap and makes this a much weaker film compared to tightly plotted films like The Prestige and Memento in which there are multiple clues dispersed across a variety of narratives but everything joins back up together to form a single conclusion.

I agree. I've been thinking that something's not right when he kept using his wife's totem.

But how about this? Dom's totem is actually his kids smile.gif

Happy ending laugh.gif

Time is truly a brilliant song.

Another song that's brilliant is 528491. It was used, I think when Fisher finally saw what was inside the vault.

Both climax beautifully and are really, really moving pieces. The emotion I feel when I listened to these songs in their respective scenes can be summed up in 1 word. Absolution. Fitting indeed when you consider both scenes involved some form of forgiveness and redemption. Both Cobb and Fisher were freed from their demons of the past in those scenes.

The soundtrack comes very close to Clint Mansell's The Fountain OST in terms of sheer brilliance (which means you guys need to watch that underrated film too!)

The Fountain is in my top 10 movies of the decade. Its story makes Inception look like a Peter and Jane book, I recommend anyone looking for difficult movies to watch it. It's also has one of the most beautiful scenes in film. And yes, the soundtrack is great.

Asking Fisher to be himself. Meaning that not to just take over his father company. Destroy the company and start all over by himself.
That is the inception.

In the end Cobb is still in a dream. The cue is the kids still wearing the same dress as ever.

Added on July 27, 2010, 11:21 amMoreover comparison made between Inception and The Matrix - personally i think Inception dont come even close. Its just a normal scifi thriller to me. While the Matrix left me flabbergasted while and after the movie for years.
