All I know that the spinning totem is actually his wife's one.
She locked up the totem. I don't understand why?

About Inception, is it an action movie packed or it is heavy story-telling movie? I am asking this because I planning to watch with my friends but then, knowing that my friends don't like something like Watchmen, Dark Knight..
*
Heavy story telling from the director part I would say.
Require lots of thinking.

i saw the movie and i dont understand the inception part~ whats the idea they planted? asking him to be himself? how does that make him destroy the empire ?
*
Asking Fisher to be himself. Meaning that not to just take over his father company. Destroy the company and start all over by himself.
That is the inception.

*

The whole movie cannot be a dream. We've seen several times how Cobb spins the top and it topples (in reality).
*
Only prove that he is not in another ppl dream. The totem is useless if he is inside his own dream. So it's still possible the whole movie is a dream actually.

So what is the point of showing the totem spinning at the end of the movie? Its kind of pointless to guess what will happen to the spinning top when we know at its going to stop spinning in his dream.

On top of that, no one else in the reality (except for the assassins) attacked Cobb, or even his partners.
*
That's because you are already inception by this idea that if the top remain spinning, it's a dream.
If topples, it's reality.

actually we as a viewer is dreaming while watching the movie. The director is the architect. We are the dreamer while cobb with his subconsious projection.
This is the very first level of the dream. Going deeper deeper until the limbo level. We got a kick when the cinema lights turn on and it's back to reality again.

Yeah, but no need to have a sequel.
Just show a "special edition" version later with extra few seconds shots on that particular spinning top will do.
Seems same like avatar doing a special edition. Lol.

I finally watched it yesterday

I follow the whole part closely and think i got the whole idea with my desire ending, just one thing that never made any sense to me

How did Cobb find Saito in the Limbo? And Saito being old already as compare to Cobb?

I read mostly all the replies in this thread, and saying that Cobb and Mal was the first two person to get into Limbo and know the way around Limbo, so Cobb know how to find Mal, was kinda weak assumption.

I really hope there is a better explanation for this and this movie will be one of the best i ever watch.
*
Saito being a lot more older because he got into limbo earlier.
And as we know the time slow exponentially down each level.

So Cobb enter the limbo later but for Saito, it must have been years for him living there before finally meeting Cobb.

Yup, there is a theory stating that everything after that is a dream. Cos he never manage to spin his top after that.
