Hi taiko, am thinking of buying Manchester United 1996 FA Cup Final Shirt. Is it really machine washable?

It is but in my personal opinion, this is a very poor quality reproduction by Scoredraw. It is not made by umbro.

My personal advice, go and look for the same jersey at ebay.... it can be found easily in ebay.. You might not find the same jersey with the FA Cup Final embroidery, but it is definitely made by umbro.

@Ayaka - PU.

For the rest, pls be informed that ALI has now brought in the latest England 09/11 home kit, for kids, adults and women as well. They also have the GK kit for adults. Prices are RM249 for home ss adults, and RM269 for home ls adults (GK also RM269). Pls note that there is a new sizing measurement for Umbro, best would be to go and try before purchase.

Namesets brought in include Gerrard 4 Lampard 8 Rooney 10, at RM99 per set.

Yes it's quite small, esp the names. But that's the way it is done up though. Would be interesting to see if there are differences to what the players actually have on their shirts.

re Everdying, by then numbers may be "hot" and tough to get:P

Anyway it is normal for Engalnd players to wear different numbers, as it is customary for them to field players wearing numbers 1 - 11 throughout for starting 11. So if your reserves start the gfame, say in a friendly, they will wear those numbers and the "regulars" who may come in at a later stage may wear other numbers from 12 - 23.

But ya, if you are gonna add patches etc to the shirt, its prudent to read on the history of the matches and apply them accrodingly. To be more meticulous, should also see if the player wore a long or short sleeved shirt etc. Just some tips to make collecting more fun smile.gif

Saw the new England jersey. I must say it looks good but the only downside is that its very thin and when you sweat, its gonna be quite transparent. Even more if you're a girl, please make sure you wear the right undergarments.

As for the material, i think its 20% cotton and the rest some synthetic lightweight material. So beware of wear and tear due to washing.

Let me share with you guys here, my review on the new England home kit.. This review is taken from the My-FJC forum:

As an england fan....jerseyman will buy the England home & away kit no matter how good or bad it looks like..

So I got mine here from kitbag. It arrived last monday..

I had mix feelings for this jersey.... For old skool and retro design lovers, you guys will love this kit. Everything about this kit is old skool... But sometimes you do feel cheated because of the quality of the material used and how it was constructed. For non-jersey loving people, when they see this kit, what will they say?

"It looks awful"

"It looks like a t-shirt to me"

I don't know why.. but I would have to agree with them on reasons that the jersey has a material that is not much different to a polo t-shirt...

FA England crest

The crest is stitched directly on to the jersey's surface, compared to the past when the crest is stitched on a different material and then applied and stitched on the crest's border on the jersey.

There are some small holes found on the back and the armpit of the jersey. Maybe to 'enhance' ventilation (I don't see or feel the effect anyway..)

But I do love the old skool presentation:

I bet aprilia_8080 would love the price tag..

Even the way the price tag is tied to the jersey is old skool. But this method is risky because people can easily scam others with this method. Say that you want to sell the same jersey that is used (2nd hand).. but you can claim that it is BNWT.. how? Find the same tag and just tie the string back... Too easy...

continued...

Other features of the jersey:

The new red umbro diamond logo.. I prefer the old logo

Front number of the jersey

Back number of the jersey

user posted image
There is a big washing tag that is stitched to a small tag inside the jersey (using the extra spare button)

user posted image
No wonder our pak racun "bisa langsung titip baju ini" because it is Made in Indonesia

user posted image
The inner tag that shows it's serial number

user posted image
Washing instructions are also behind the small tag. So you can remove the big washing tag later..

On the button shows the jersey's lifespan (2009-2010)

Overall review of this jersey:

Design: 4 out of 5 (old skool)
Material: 2 out of 5 (it looks and feels like a t-shirt.. as if no polyester was used but in fact it was... mixture of polyester + cotton)
Cutting: 4 out of 5 (customized up to chest measurement.. but beware that it is a bit baggy)
Comfortness: 3 out of 5 (comfy but still feels like wearing a t-shirt)
Overall: 3 out of 5
