QUOTE(ckimy @ Jul 20 2009, 12:09 PM)
hi everyone, i got a question again...

Al-Ikhsan selling the NNs is player size or replica size which is smaller than player size?

then how about the EPL badge?

*
No matter which store, either al-ikhsan or real one or q-line..

They are all selling player sized namesets (lextra or senscilia) and player sized patches.

Because for the new EPL nameset/patches (launched in 07/08 season), there is only player sized namesets for lextra typed namesets.

Local stores order only lextra typed namesets because they look genuine and authentic. They don't sell PU typed namesets, it's only being used in most sports stores in UK.

thanks again bro  biggrin.gif

now wondering i apply my NNs at JB or Singapore...

In Singapore, 1 letter SG$2.50, 1 number $10, EPL Badge $20.... if good in bargain, maybe can cheaper.... but have to add SG$3 - SG$5 for ironing fees...

i wanted to apply OWEN#7 + EPL Champions Badge, about SG$45 to gao dim...

In JB, maybe need around RM118 edi, a slightly diff only  sweat.gif

*
In Malaysia, would be more cheaper.

1 EPL letter = RM6
1 Number = RM35
Printing fee = free if you buy the nameset there

So OWEN 7 should cost only (RM6 X 4) + RM35 = RM24 + RM35 = RM59.

hey guys,

kinda off topic but i was wondering whether do u guys know where to get Argentina home jerseys and and J leagues jersey ? i've been huntin ard but i cant seem to find any =(
*
Argentina jerseys were sold at most stores in the past... you can try checking at al-ikhsan, real one or at adidas stores.

If you can't find one, you can buy them online from kitbag or subsidesports. Please read the first page for more details.

For J-League Jerseys, chcher has once spoken about it (answer another member's question about the same question):

QUOTE(chcher @ Jul 13 2009, 12:13 PM)
J leageu jerseys, if you are looking for current ones, there is no other choice but ebay or at the J League online stores. Super expensive though. Local stores do not bring them in at all, not that I can recall.

Old retro ones can still find in bundle stores around the country, but condition depends on luck really, but mostly are in good condition except for dirt, minor pulls etc.

Can see some of those I bought off my contact at bundle stores (mostly in Johor):-

http://www.flickr.com/photos/chcher/sets/72157609435434838/

If you interested in these old Japanese kits (not neccessary J League, alot are in fact Japanese high school team kits) then drop me a PM, i can hook you up with my contact tongue.gif

And great news on the Liverpool away kit gold NNs. Looks like i have some final shopping to do before i retire for the month smile.gif
*
Hope this answers your questions.

*
What is the material of the NNs like?

Plastic (PU)? or velvet?

any advice?
*
Normally velvet or lextra namesets have only 1 size.

Nevermind, take photos of the letters.. place a ruler on the side of one of the letters. Then take photo.

We can then later compare.

OK thanks for advice!

Im getting Scholes 18. Appreciate If you have a measurement for any of the lettering i can take my own measurement

cheers!
*
Actually I want to know what is the measurement of the letters. You should measure them first, take a photo and share it with us.. or just inform us what is the height of the letters. Since you were the one who was concerned with the nameset's size that is printed on to the jersey.

To understand more, check out this chart:

Apologies for the quality of the chart.

From the chart, it actually shows this:

PLAYERS SIZE (Process: Lextra)

Letters: 53mm
Numbers: 258mm
Short Numbers: 104mm
Players Name: 53mm

ADULT REPLICA (Process: PU)
Letters: 47mm
Numbers: 230mm
Short Numbers: 104mm
Players Name: 47mm

JUNIOR REPLICA (Process: Lextra & PU)

Numbers: 165mm
Players Name: 34mm

So from this, you can see that there are 3 categories of EPL namesets. Which is player sizes, adult replica and junior replica.

See the measurement details.. the letters for player sizes are 53mm tall and numbers are 258mm tall.

The letters and numbers sold at local stores are all players size. Since only player size namesets are lextra material.

Jerseys applied with epl namesets from kitbag/united direct use adult replica namesets.. which are smaller and uses PU (thin plastic material).

So you can measure again the namesets on your jersey and see if it's replica or player size.

I just bought one at Hytex Studio (Nike boutique store) at Sunway Piramid. Got one L size left. Selling for RM181.30

BTW they have a membership scheme where you can get 10% discount for any nike or adidas products sold by hytex studio. So if you want to buy the new man utd home jersey with 10% discount (will be RM259 x 0.9 = RM233.10) subscirbe their membership, they will give you a card and then for the next purchase you can use it.

Will share with you guys later more info on this.. Jerseyman is on the road at the moment (heading back to my wife's hometown in penang).. maxis broadband got excellent coverage along the PLUS highway thumbup.gif

is it normal? the number 7 seems to cling on to the fabric and kindda shrunk in.
*
Not sure what happened but you can try fixing it..

Flip your jersey inside out, sprinkle some water and then iron press the letters beneath the area where the letters sits... Ironing it will smoothen the surface of the nameset and also make the glue bond better.

No need to worry. It's normal.

About the placement.. No comments. I normally do my nameset printing by myself, except for some delicate PU namesets. But from what I see, I think the placement is ok.. remember this is a small sized jersey.

QUOTE(darrylczw @ Jul 26 2009, 10:08 PM)
hey narutokun83, ur sis's NN is the furry type isit ? is it called lextra ? i am kinda confused right now...

Yes, that is lextra. Why are you confused?

Lextra vs PU (polyurethane or thin plastic) is so different...

QUOTE(darrylczw @ Jul 26 2009, 10:32 PM)
thanks jerseyman ! but i'll ask u personally, do u like the lextra type or PU ?
*
I prefer lextra or it's new name, Senscillia.

Because it is more durable than PU. PU is a very thin plastic layer.. it can be ruined easily. If you sit on a leather seat, be extra careful if you are wearing a football jersey with PU typed nameset printed on the back of the jersey you're wearing. I have friends who ruined their jerseys because of this, where the PU nameset will stick on to the leather seat.

Ironing can also ruin it, if you accidentally touched the top surface of the PU nameset with your iron. It will melt.

Lextra namesets can also be ruined too... it is sturdy and solid but if you mistakenly iron on stitched areas such as the 3 stripes on the jersey's sleeves (for previous adidas jerseys), there is a risk that it can cause the EPL patch to crack. Which is why adidas decided to produce jerseys with gaps near the areas where the patches sits on the sleeves... a good move by adidas.

But overall, lextra or senscillia namesets and patches are more favoured by jerseyman.

There is one difference.

Previously all lextra typed nameset or patches has a thin plastic protective film on top of it.

Now, for senscillia nameset/patches, the plastic protective film is no longer there. Good example would be the CWC patch.

To be precise.. the letters should be a bit closer because the nameset of the man united jerseys are all pre-arranged.. which means they all come in sets like the blue namesets last season... even for the white ones.

So Albert Morgan just applies them easily... they all come in sets, so the arrangement should be close between the letters.

Only for certain unique names like MACHEDA, I saw last season where clearly it was a pre-customized letters + numbers, not the usual namesets that comes in sets.... since MACHEDA was a new player and a new nameset.

Look closely at the jerseys actually worn by the man united players, they all are arranged closely.

This is a different case for other teams... like Portsmouth and Liverpool, I can see the letters have gaps.. It's the best to check first by looking at the photos (such as from getty images) to see how a particular nameset is applied. Sometimes even a titsy bitsy small detail can be a hassle. Example:

How do you arrange the dot '.' in the J.S.Park nameset? Is the dot placed middle or closer to the letters on the left?

Which is why I prefer to DIY my namesets myself. Not only it saves cost but also it is from my own personal satisfaction.

Anyway no need to worry so much on the EVRA thingy.. No worries, as long as it is authentic, no problem!
