may i know how to backup my mmc and phone memory stuff ?

haha now it got another new prob,sometimes while loading for something(eg.web page,video,music) the whole screen will turn to transparent green like a phone theme until i touch the screen,then it will turn back to normal..while i was typing a few sec ago,the screen turned pink until i touch the screen..note that im replying this thread using my tube..wtf la nokia.!..lol no wounder this phone is too freaking cheap!

I've no idea mate. Last time when I first got my Tube, I manage to deactivate the restrictions as there was an option available.

Yessss it happened to me occasionally.. But it didnt bugs me.. live with it.. just unlock then lock it back..

u can back up using pc suite lor. i 4got which icon but once u connected ur phone to pc, open pc suite, then can backup evrything to pc

That's not a phone problem, either the network you are connected to is congested or the Nokia update server is busy dealing with too many requets, just retry.

better use usb cable lah... phone network not consistent and not very stable, especially maxis 3g now.

Agreed 100%. Better use USB connected to a PC that has broadband access. More reliable connection. You don't want the line to die in the middle of an update.

Added on February 11, 2009, 4:48 pmI'm kinda suspecting that v20 does not really improve on performance of the Tube much but I suspect Nokia has tweaked it so it "seems" everything is a lot smoother i.e. switching between apps etc., so that users "feel" it's faster. Although the gallery now loads noticeably faster, the rest like when replying to a message, the lag between hitting the reply key and when the message editor comes up is still there. Then again it might be my own perception.

Dont worry la, update via fota, if line got dc, it will start again, even after complete downloading thru fota, you can update now or update later...so not to worry

Hello everyone . I just install garmin but after i install i press the icon it seem nothing pop out ?

Have you installed the Virtual Key application? Garmin XT is not currently optimised for S60v5, so certain soft keys like the ones on the bottom right/left cannot be used by pressing the screen, instead you have to map these soft keys to the physical keys on the 5800, hence the need for Virtual key.

Added on February 11, 2009, 4:57 pmOn another note, I installed the Japanese language for the new Dictionary that comes with v20 but when I search for a word in English, the resulting target meaning in Japanese cannot be displayed. I know it's a language pack thing, question is how do I enable the Japanese fonts to display. My Japanese MP3s show the Kanji, curious.

This is a common problem
it could be installation corrupted or wrong version

double check you downloaded the Garmin Mobile XT 5.00.20, and reinstall it again could solve the problem. Good luck

Guys, I have one question, hope to get some solutions here..

My pc doesnt show "safety remove" after I plug in my tube in PC Suite mode, the "safety remove" icon only appear when it is in Mass Storage mode, do you guys have same problem?

Is it ok if I unplug my tube without safety removing method?
Memory card will spoil?

yeah wanted to know about this too..not only your tube, but i think every nokia phone plugged in to PC Suite will be like that, cos my N82 is also like that.

I think it should be ok to remove as long as we're not transferring anything at that point right?

Happened to me after the update and sometimes in V11 as well. Although after the update the prob seems to be more frequent and longer lasting. But it hasn't happened for more than a day now.

Well, I have another problem now...

I just updated my FW and my Dictionary isnt working when I launch it.. lol.. wtf.

I had that problem before. I don't know about your situation but for me, my problem is because I only installed the Garmin Mobile XT without copying the Garmin folder supplied together into my memory card. So what I do is I copy the whole Garmin folder and paste it into my memory card. As in E:\Garmin. I only install the software after copying that folder. I don't know about you but that solves my problem.


On other note, I notice that after upgrading to the latest firmware, finally my Handy Shell shows no distortion at the bottom screen in landscape mode. Didn't notice anything else apart from the one that others had talked about.

Added on February 11, 2009, 5:42 pmI don't know about that but I've tried v5.00.00 and also the current one, v5.00.20 without any problem. The current one seems to lock on to the satellite signal faster though.
