i dun think riding with earphones is really a good idea. i dun think depriving your ears and brain of the sounds of nature when you are in the hill is good for the soul. and i dun think covering your ears from the sound of traffic and from what is going on around you is good for your health.
but for riding in rocky and sandy areas, a pair of goggles or clear lens shades are handy and look cool (depends on your taste la). raybans like the T1000 also can. |

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Feb 26 2009, 03:10 PM) Agree.. but as long as keep the volume to reasonable and don't use noise cancellation headphones... should be ok. I think we should ask a DH-er to try it but @ his/her own risk, and we'll see the outcome. PS: I it's gonna be an unsightly sight. QUOTE(iman_210 @ Feb 26 2009, 06:01 PM) dun think can ride with the earphone on...if road riding ok...imagine dhillling and u got wires around ur neck to ur waist...bit distracted... Road riding also can't ler, can't hear the cars behind you. QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Feb 26 2009, 06:23 PM) Urm, weight of earphones might distract you.QUOTE(dickybird @ Feb 26 2009, 06:32 PM) i dun think riding with earphones is really a good idea. i dun think depriving your ears and brain of the sounds of nature when you are in the hill is good for the soul. and i dun think covering your ears from the sound of traffic and from what is going on around you is good for your health. Perhaps, using a pair of "micro-earphones", like those type you see in movies that are used by army officials. It's so small, you put the *whole* think into your ear. but for riding in rocky and sandy areas, a pair of goggles or clear lens shades are handy and look cool (depends on your taste la). raybans like the T1000 also can. |

32x16 yup. oh, adding to climbing offroad. must lean forward while uphilling. easier & faster.
oh drops. usually when ure comfortable with it, ur body will auto lean to thee back a bit just to make it a smooth drop. ur legs will play suspension as well in absorbing the impact. and as according to monkey, do not bail right before a drop or gap, ull get hurt! ick! QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Feb 26 2009, 12:57 PM) You mean 32x16 with 2x4? mental set to climb climb climb is a way too.So.. to do drops... basically you mean must be confidence, shut of the brain... switch to think with balls mode instead? : QUOTE(Lord_darkslide @ Feb 26 2009, 01:06 PM) when go uphill... i sing/hum... i sing/hum in my head.. or aloud... oh, lean forward helps too!for what? so that i wont think about the steep hill in front me..just pedal...pedal...pedal... until " wahhh... i reach top edi arr" hehehehhehe "just keep peddaling...just keep pedaaling..." like Dory in finding nemo... hehehhehehe going downhill.....i switch to half brain.. half balls thinking mode... hehehhehehe..... QUOTE(Broadica @ Feb 26 2009, 01:15 PM) hmn... i try that... hahaha 4th idea isn't that correct. You CAN die from injury of MTBing. heee.i did engage to the gears that i think would bring me up the slope. however, sometimes even with uneven terrain.. going up is ok.. as long my wheels can roll over them nicely. the situation when a bigger obstacle are in front... they just break the cadence... that is the time when i stand up and add on some pump to the pedal... but often with narrower track... i get off balance with little room to correct ... that when i fail to pedal up. QUOTE(Nightstalker1993 @ Feb 26 2009, 01:44 PM) should be compatible you can say that again. i have been in this mtb forum way before NS, and im not listed on the bike specs. haha.just make sure u get ur shifter changed too lol... and sometimes the chain too... long, heavy, overkill for a hardtail, not as nice as my durolux 1. Fill up ur iPod with ROCK songs 2. Create a 'Riding' playlist 3. Watch some riding vids before riding to get you pumped up 4. When doing it, think 'If they can do it, why can't i?' and 'I'm not gonna die, why am i so scared?' so far helped me lots and not to forget, watch MORE riding videos and analyze how they do the drop/jump or trick to get it dialed in ur mind lol... QUOTE(dickybird @ Feb 26 2009, 05:05 PM) Hey NS, how come my ride spec is not listed together with the other forumers? if i am not wrong i have with this forum since v5? or u can try loudspeaker phones for music. QUOTE(iman_210 @ Feb 26 2009, 06:01 PM) dun think can ride with the earphone on...if road riding ok...imagine dhillling and u got wires around ur neck to ur waist...bit distracted... XC riding i don't recommend doing listening to music. but DH, it's like a must. haha. it gives u the adrenaline.
