QUOTE(iman_210 @ Feb 22 2009, 11:09 PM) the direct cable routing does not changes the ratio of pull, else you'd need a new shifter which is made for it lol...like SRAM's 1:1 direct pull and the usual 2:1 pull ratio... the direct cable routing just removes the huge cable loop entering the rd and since Shadow is made to reduce the chance of getting damaged, the huge cable loop is also removed to reduce the chance of something snagging the cable lol... but the main reason of removing the loop is to reduce cable drag lol... |

There's also a trekking version (48T but chainguard). They shud've changed the crankarm color This is 2008 XT... spot the difference? Hey guys, I've got an urgent question that needs to be answered ASAP. Is it possible for me to oil my RST Capa T4 fork with WD-40? Can I just spray the oil on the stanchion tube directly or must I disassemble the whole fork?

QUOTE(Broadica @ Feb 23 2009, 01:25 PM) hmn... if u can get the XT2009 at NT 5800.. then it would be better buy? no? My crank is Deore FC-M532 which is perfectly ok so there's no real reason to change except bling only the stylo with the glossy paint, will probably get ugly after some wear... SLX is about RM450 here... anyway, i saw ur siggy.. u using XT crank.. why the change ? Only b1tchin here.. XTR --> Best-est evaaaaa... but I'm not billionaire yet Deore XT --> Don't like the silver crankarm. Although its got this easy wipe away coating on it... It's still silver. Stylo OCT --> Best lookin one.. just not too hot with Truvativ or FSA stuffs for that matter. SLX --> Best-est bang for buck except that I'm struggling to figure out what benefits do I get swapping the Deore with the SLX except for a ~60 odd gram weight reduction |

Can I just spray the oil on the stanchion tube directly or must I disassemble the whole fork? WD-40's function is to remove moisture.. it's NOT a lubricant. So keep your WD40 for creaking stuck keyholes and such.I just use teflon lube (finishline)... whack some around the stanchion... let it slip down.. lepak for a while... wipe excess off.
